Generating Online Home Business Internet Income While Working a 9 to 5 Job

Description:

There is a vast difference between generating an online home business income and working a 9 to 5 job for a salary. This article takes a look at these two very different working environments and how you can combine the two.

Whilst many would love the freedom of making a home business income full-time, some people are just not cut out for owning their own online home business and prefer working for a boss and earning a guaranteed salary at the end of the month. They feel secure in this environment although in this day and age a job is far from secure with companies downsizing rapidly.

They place a lot of value on the company benefits such as the company contributions towards their Medical Insurance and Pension Fund and other perks they may receive. They feel comfortable with the routine and in the knowledge that they know exactly what is required of them. They also enjoy the daily interaction with work colleagues.

On the other hand, others do not enjoy the restrictive environment of working for a boss. They hate being told what to do and when to do it. The fact that they feel owned prompts them to seek alternative ways of earning an income so they can break away from the traditional method of earning a salary. They are not interested in the energy sapping company politics, they feel stifled and feel there is more to life than a 9 to 5 job.

They are looking for the challenge and freedom of owning their own home business as well as the flexibility of being able to choose when and where they work to generate internet income.

Personal freedom is probably one of the main attractions to starting an online home business and generating internet income from home. Not having a boss to answer to is real freedom. Working the hours you choose allows you to spend more quality time with your family and attend to other commitments without having to ask permission. Not having to partake in the morning and evening rush hour is such a stress reliever and adds more hours to your day.

Running your own business on the other hand requires a lot of work on a daily basis. It takes a serious commitment to build a successful online business to the point of creating a home business income. It is challenging yet very exciting and rewarding.

The qualities that spring to mind immediately of a person who is suitable to make an online home business income include determination, courage, patience, self-discipline, hard-working, independent, responsible, dedicated and you need good work ethics. Owning your own business requires that risks and major decisions need to be taken. Being the boss requires that you take responsibility for your own business.

Some folk are perhaps in a situation where they need to supplement their income and the great advantage of starting an online home business is that you can generate internet income while still working in a job and build your business up to the point when you are able to fire the boss and work full time at home. Or you can just continue with your day job and enjoy the additional internet income you are earning from your online business.

By putting in a few hours every evening you will get a good idea of what is involved. You will get a taste of the challenges and of what you can achieve. It will give you a chance to test the waters while still having the security of your day job. You can start building your online home business to the point that you are making sufficient online home business income prior to quitting your day job.

Sales Success Tips-Stop Chasing Your Prospects and Close More Sales Immediately

"Is it just me or are prospects becoming more difficult to close?"

This is a question I received from someone who had signed up for my free sales mini course. Obviously, this is a difficult question to answer without more details, but the general answer is yes, for the sales professional who fails to follow a clear, proven process, there is undoubtedly more failure than ever before.

We allow the prospect to set the tone because the "customer is always right." Sorry, not always. If we chase our prospects or allow them to dictate the process, while we bow to their every whim, allow them to abuse our time and talents, how much respect can they possibly have for us? Then you have to ask ourselves, "Would I want to buy from and open a relationship with someone I don't respect?"

"John" was tired of chasing his prospects via phone tag, delayed or unanswered emails, and delayed decision making, etc. Actually, each of these issues should be broken down into much smaller pieces and examined more carefully to determine where the breakdown is occurring. It would be impossible to address even one of them in a single article, but there is one common element that runs through each of these issues that can help you to avoid many of the frustrations that you may be facing.

The most important thing you can do in your sales process is to get a commitment from your prospect at every step in the sales process. Even a tiny one. This will keep you in control of the process and because of that will keep you in a respectful position in the eyes of your process. A reluctance or refusal of your prospect to make even a small commitment is a strong signal to you that it is time to move on. On the other hand, a prospect that commits and follows through is building a relationship and trust with you. It's a simple rule, but one that even the most successful sales professionals struggle with from time to time. Get a commitment for another step or get a no. It is as simple and complex as that. Just remember that even the tiniest commitment is a step forward. In almost every situation, these commitments must have time frames attached.

Consider this exchange: Prospect: I'm covered up this week, I'll review the material and maybe we can talk next week. You: Great! I'll call you next week and we'll talk further!

Now I have encountered many sales people who will insist that they "have one on the hook." Not likely. The most likely scenario is that they never speak with this individual again because the prospect ducks their calls, or if they do have another conversation, somehow the prospect still hasn't gotten around to reviewing the material.

Now consider this instead: Prospect: I'm covered up this week. I'll review the material and maybe we can talk next week. You: Great! I know how it feels to be busy. I've got quite a full schedule myself. Since neither of us has a lot of time to waste, let's make sure we don't end up playing phone tag. I can call you next week at 3:45 on Thursday or about 11:40 on Friday.

Then shut up. Let the prospect choose. Whichever time your prospect chooses, follow up with "Wonderful! That will probably work out best for me too. And speaking of time, make sure you have gone through the material and noted any questions or comments that you have. That way we can BOTH make the best use of our time. Can you do that?"

While the commitment may be the most important part, what you have just done accomplishes several things: 1) You have kept control, 2) You have established yourself as busy and efficient by offering odd times rather than the same old "around 3:30," that they will get from most others. 3) You've now built in a guilt factor for helping to get the task of review completed.

While none of these things alone will likely get you the sale, when they all come together, your chances for moving forward are much higher.

Can I Make Money Selling My Handmade Jewelry Designs On Ebay?

Description:

How to structure an ebay business using your handcrafted jewelry.

Content:

If you've ever tried to sell your work on the tremendously competitive and crowded pages of Ebay, your quick answer to the above question may be no. But don't be so quick to answer. If you keep these few things in mind, you can have a successful jewelry business on Ebay.
Before I started my website, http://www.a-zjewelrydesign.com/, I sold my jewelry designs exclusively on Ebay. And, as with any business, with an Ebay business, you need to have a business plan. The odds are against you on Ebay if you simply make a few pieces, list them, and hope for the best. Your chances are much better if you spend enough time to develop a significant inventory of several types of items that show your individual style. After all you may only have one chance with an Ebay buyer... if they visit your auctions, and you have only a few unrelated items up for sale, they may never come back. But, on the other hand, if they see a nice inventory of things that they would love to buy, they will bookmark your store.
You will also need a listing/sales strategy. There should be two types of items in your storefront:
Store Items: Have a well thought out inventory of items in your Ebay store. (These items will always be there at a fixed price.) All you need to do is make a sample, upload a photo, and remake the pieces as the orders come in. (Earrings are great store items.) Ebay has a low store-listing price of $.05 per listing, and a monthly $15 store fee. Remember, you will have to sell enough to cover this Storefront expense above and beyond the per piece profit, however.
Auction Items (or fixed price listings): These listings are much more expensive per piece, but, no will find your store without them! It may unnerve you to start a listing at $.01; but, your best bet is to start your auction listings low. Let me give you a typical example that I have seen a hundred times: Sue starts a choker at $9.95, because that is what she paid for the materials. Lisa starts the same choker at $.01. Sue's item gets zero bids. Lisa's item sells for $30. Here's the lesson: The final bidder was willing to pay $30, but she was tempted by the idea that she could get it for nothing. Ebay buyers are always looking for a bargain!
Featured Listings: Another very important thing I learned is that you must have at least one Featured Listing at any given time. You pay a premium for Featured listings on Ebay ($19.95), but they put your listing in the top page of your category for the duration of the listing. Featured Listings are your best portal into this very competitive market of jewelry artisans. You cannot think of the expense of a Featured Listing as a selling expense against the one-featured piece, but as an advertising expense for all your listings and storefront. (For instance; if you have twenty auctions in a week and one is featured, you can consider that you've spent $1 per piece to get ebay buyers in the door to your store.)
You must understand that you will not get rich selling handmade jewelry on Ebay! I always felt that what I averaged per piece on Ebay was like wholesale prices. But - let's face it - if you are selling through stores that resell your work, you will not be making retail on your work either. Plus, you will be running around, schlepping your work, and most likely leaving it on consignment with boutiques. After all, wholesale on ebay is pretty good when you're able to work from home, list the things you want and make your own hours doing something you love!
The biggest mistake jewelry sellers on ebay make is to step into it too casually. You must have a certain amount of patience, and understand that there will be upfront expenses that will not come back to you immediately. (In what other business venture would we expect such a thing?). If you take the time to study Ebay, watch what the successful sellers are doing and develop your own inventory and a strategy - you can be successful on Ebay!

Outsource for Success – is it Right for You?

Description:

Business development and management consultants agree that, the most successful companies focus time and talent on core issues that are vital to their business. Unfortunately for small and growing firms, business owners often allow important functions such as product development, or sales and marketing to be sidelined by routine administrative and HR functions such as payroll, compensation, employee benefits or mediation. You may already use a payroll company to outsource many of your payroll functions. Today, there companies who provide comprehensive HR outsourcing services which allow business owners and managers to focus their attention on running their company.

Professional Employer Organizations

Professional Employer Organizations or (PEOs) have revolutionized the delivery of employee management and human resource services to small and midsize companies across America. PEO's relieve employers of the time-consuming chores of managing employee administration and payroll, and ensuring that their firm is in compliance with the myriad of government and HR regulations.

Co-Employer Agreement

Under the terms of a co-employer agreement, the PEO acts as the employer of record, providing accounting, administration, benefits, HR and OSHA compliance, payroll, and risk management services for thousands of companies and millions of employees on a daily basis. This pooling of resources enables the Professional Employee Organization to command significant purchasing power when negotiating rates with insurance companies for health, dental, liability and workers compensation coverage.

Everyone Benefits

Every employee and family member can enjoy affordable, high caliber "Fortune 500" benefits choices that only large companies and government agencies can offer. Management and staff gain access to skilled employee benefits, human resource and risk management professionals to assist and support them. The value that Professional Employer Organizations provide small and midsize firms can be difficult to measure, but is impossible to ignore. They help a young firm succeed against more established competitors in the market for skilled and competent workers. They improve your recruitment success, assisting you in attracting candidates whose abilities, skills, and references have been verified, while enhancing your ability to retain and reward valuable staff, managers, and officers.

Finding a PEO

The National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO), the industry trade group, estimates that approximately 700 PEOs are currently operating nationwide. The problem for most business owners is that each PEO offers a differing range of administrative services, employee benefit programs and support, at varying levels of quality and cost. Devoting the time, energy and expertise to accurately compare PEOs can be a daunting task for any employer. Internet directories such as PEO.com and peo-quote.com can help with your search, or you can seek the services consulting firms who specialize in the field of HR Outsourcing like employers-Rx.com.

Getting Passed the Gate Keepers

Description:

We all know the feeling of going out to make our cold calls, only to be shot down by the person at the front desk who looks at us as nothing more than a solicitor.

Content:

We all know the feeling of going out to make our cold calls, only to be shot down by the person at the front desk who looks at us as nothing more than a solicitor.

These front desk people would be otherwise known as the gate keepers.

Lets face it, getting passed the gate keeper can be tough, we are on their turf, what they say goes. Any slight resistance could end up with them making a call to security.

Here are few really good tips on getting passed the gate keeper that have been proven to work.

1. Ask to speak with someone in the sales department.

The next time you are out cold calling, the last thing you want to do is walk into an office building, approach the front desk, and immediately try to sell your product.

Instead, try this approach. Walk up to the receptionist counter, introduce yourself verbally and with a business card, and ask if you may speak with someone in their sales or retail department.

By asking to speak with someone in a specialized department, the receptionist will believe you are there on official business and put you in contact with that department.

Now that you are in front of someone in the same area of work as yourself, they will most assuredly be sensitive to your needs, and understand your situation.

These are the people in the company that will point you in the direction you want to go, and in the direction of the people you want to speak with about your products and services.

2. Call ahead before you go.

Before you go out to make your calls, place a telephone call to the companies you plan on visiting to let them know that you will be stopping by.

Tell them something like this.

Hello, my name is Jim Smith and I will be in your neighborhood this afternoon. I just wanted to let you know that I will be stopping by between the hours of twelve and two to introduce myself. That’s it, stop right there.

Do not ask for permission to stop by. This will give them the opportunity to say no.

Once you arrive at their office, you can than reintroduce yourself as the person that had called earlier in the day.

This technique makes the transition from gate keeper to decision maker much smoother.

Getting passed the gate keeper can be very tricky, but it can be done. By following the two examples I described above, you should find yourself talking with more decision makers. Good luck.

When you dream as a child about what you want to be when you grow up, fashion designer ranks high on the list for many who envision a glamorous lifestyle and a chance to influence the way society dresses. Being a fashion designer certainly does come with its benefits; but it is also a career that requires a balance between creativity and skill.

We need only to turn on the television or flip the pages of a magazine to see how fashion influences our culture. The way we dress on a daily basis, the clothing we run to the stores to purchase, all depend on what's popular on the runways. And what's popular on the runways is created by fashion designers. A fashion designer creates a look and makes it happen. But what people don't see, as models strut the runway wearing the latest designs, is the enormous amount of work and skill that it takes to get to that bright shining moment.

A fashion designer must not only be skilled in the manufacturing of clothing - including knowledge of textiles and expertise in sewing - but also in sketching and drawing their designs. The savvy fashion designer understands color and how to use it to capture the essence of their design.

Becoming a fashion designer means attending a reputable school that teaches design, sewing, textiles, and the like. It is imperative that you learn the fundamentals of design before you add your own creativity and flair. Even more important, however, is the working knowledge that you can gain working as an intern or apprentice in an established shop. Working alongside a fashion designer who can give you firsthand experiences and help you build your portfolio is incredibly important to becoming a fashion designer. It's all about experience. So take all that you can from school but put your skills to use - everywhere and anywhere that you can. A strong portfolio that demonstrates your talent and desire to work in the industry will go a long way to helping you realize your dream of becoming a fashion designer.

The Rush to Rehab; Stop Rehab Abuse!

Description:

Rehab is not the cure for all the -isms or for hate. The cure is education, self-examination and the willingness to get to know people from diverse backgrounds as human beings and understand their lives and experiences.

Content:

The Mayor of San Francisco announces that he’ll enter rehab and counseling for alcohol after it’s revealed that he had an affair with the wife of his campaign manager. Isaiah Washington is undergoing counseling for his use of a homophobic slur. Michael Richards is in counseling for yelling racist epithets. Met Gibson enters rehab for alcoholism after making anti-Semitic remarks when stopped by police for driving while intoxicated., Sen. Mark Foley enters rehab for alcohol after it was revealed that he had sent sexually suggestive e-mails to teenage pages., Reverend Haggard enters rehab when confronted with having a sexual relationship with a male prostitute.

The list goes on and on and on.

Then there are the Lindsey Lohans and Nicole Ritchies who enter rehab for drugs, alcohol or whatever, become ‘experts’ on addiction recovery, tell everyone how their lives have changed, yet within a short amount of time are seen partying, driving under the influence, and acting out.

We read the newspapers, listen to the radio and go online wondering, who is next in the line-up for rehab? Who will come out a few weeks later, write their memoirs, go on the speaking circuit, and tell us to live our lives?

There could be a gold mine in running rehab centers for celebrities that don’t want to take responsibility for their actions and for counselors who specialize in famous people who make racist, homophobic, or any other hate-filled remarks.. There’s probably also money to be made by graphic artists who create diplomas for graduates of rehab and counseling who are declared ‘cured’ of alcoholism, drug addiction, racism, homophobia, and homosexuality.

Rehab is getting a bad name and soon there will be no room for the average alcoholic or drug addict who works hard to stay clean and sober, takes responsibility for their actions, and knows that there is still work to do after the first 30 days.

I’ve been clean and sober for over 22 years and I’ve put a lot of work into transforming my life. One of the first things I learned in AA was that alcoholism and drug addiction are not excuses for injuring yourself or others. Part of my recovery was making a list of people who I had harmed, making amends to them personally and accepting the consequences of my past actions. I didn’t make an announcement to the world and I still don’t think I have all the answers, but I do know a thing or two about rehab.

I realize, for example, that my amends and apologies have to mean something and indicate a change in actions and thought processes. I also know that “apologies by proxy”—when celebrities make inappropriate remarks then apologize to well-known people from the group targeted by the remarks—just don’t cut it. There seems to be no end to well-known people who make racist remarks about Black people and then call Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson seeking absolution, as if they have the power or time to forgive and make such comments ok.

Entering treatment for addiction means you get treatment for your addiction. Any other changes you make are up to you. That also means that.a racist alcoholic, who gets treated for alcoholism can still be a sober racist, anti-Semite, homophobe, or engage in inappropriate behavior.

As a diversity and inclusion strategy consultant, I speak to individuals and organizations throughout the world. I hear racist, homophobic, anti-Semitic remarks from all kinds of people. At the same time, I’m with people who work hard to understand others who are different than themselves, who learn to break through incorrect assumptions and stereotypes, and appreciate the opportunity to interact with others in meaningful dialogue.

Rehab is not the cure for all the -isms or for hate. The cure is education, self-examination and the willingness to get to know people from diverse backgrounds as human beings and understand their lives and experiences.

Feeling Down: It Ain't That Bad...

Description:

We all get into a blue funk when things don't seem to be going our way. This article will break you out of your funky mood.

Content:

When I first started in sales many years ago I knew that the toughest challenge, aside from getting business, was the ability to stay motivated and not give up so easy. I mean, let's be real with one another here; we all get in a blue funk (i.e., a blue mood where your world just seems all funky). I was asked the other day during an interview what I do personally when I get into a blue funk.

I responded by saying that the first thing I do is take a long walk, run an errand or do some physical activity around the house. Anything is better than sitting alone, moping around and watching reruns on television. My favorite thing to do is walk. Walking clears my head and allows me think about what is brings on this blue funk.

During my walks I ask myself the simple question, "Why am I so bummed out?" I then start doing a mental inventory of all things that are going right and all the things that aren't. What usually drives me into a blue funk is PROCRASTINATION. I guess I could call this a P-Funk (for those of you who remember George Clinton's Parliament and Funkadelics...I know you get the double meaning ;-)

I don't know about you, but I have a tendency to put things off for another time. The problem is that there are many things, little things, that I continue to put off or never get around to completing. Most of my funks come from an ‘accumulation' of small things that I haven't taken the time to do. The sum total of my procrastination is usually the root cause of my funks.

The next step for me is to mentally prioritize a plan of action to extricate myself from the funk. When I get back from my walk I list out all the little things I need to get done in priority and I start to go at them right away.

If you've done this yourself in the past you know what happens. As soon as you start crossing things off that to-do list you start to feel a sense of relieve and the funk begins to subside. What does that tell you? Well...that you had the P-Funk.

The last thing I do to silence any anxiety is to always remember, "It ain't that bad." I internalized this statement a long time ago when I was a salesman. One day I went to visit one of my customers to do a presentation. After the presentation in the training room, he escorted me to his office to finish our discussing.

When I sat down in front of him, I saw a picture cut out from a newspaper posted on the wall behind that was very disturbing. I mean really "disturbing". As we talked my eyes were drawn to the picture behind him. Finally, I had to ask him why he had that picture on the wall behind him.

He paused and turned around and looked and he said the following, "Victor, anytime I start feeling sorry for myself because things aren't going well in my business or personal life, I look at this picture to remind myself that it (the situation) ain't that bad."

What was the picture? It was a picture of an Ethiopian woman squatting by the side of a dirt road holding her child's lifeless body in her arms. The child's stomach was bloated to 3 times its normal size from the hunger he had suffered while flies collected around his eyes, nose and mouth. The picture was heart wrenching and to this day I still see the image in my head as if it were in front of me right now.

No matter how bad your situation is right now, or how dire you may feel about current circumstance, find some comfort in knowing that we live a great country where success is possible and that scenes like that are the exception to the rule. So the next time you're in a funk, remember,...it ain't that bad.

Ebay Auction Strategies

Description:

Auction Strategies ebook cuts right through the hype to the absolute heart of the issue. Yes, you can make money on eBay, good money. George Roberts lays out an entire blueprint for success. If you are looking for a no nonsense, down to earth, realistic guide to doing business on eBay, Auction Strategies is an absolute must for your digital library.

Content:

Ronald W. Firquain

Perhaps one of the best things that the Internet has spawned for the world is eBay, a site where everything can be sold at prices that people online will dictate. The concept of eBay is much like the usual auction houses that collectors often go to. People will bid on an item and the bidder with the highest bid will get to take home the item after buying it of course. What makes eBay different is the fact that it is opened to virtually anyone in the world.

This way, items that are found in place outside the country you are in will already be accessible to you. You can bid on items that interest you, pay on paypal and have it delivered or shipped to your doorstep.

If you are looking for a no nonsense, down to earth, realistic guide to doing business on eBay, eBay Auction Strategies is an absolute must for your digital library. No hype, just good, solid how to information. There is tons of money to be made on eBay. Thousands do it every day and there is no reason why you can not be one of them!

Make it visual

People are basically visual. Sometimes, they need a picture or a graphical representation before they will be persuaded to buy from you. And besides, how will they know what they are buying without a picture on your site? This is especially true if what you are buying are items that you yourself have created. A picture will be better able to advertise your product online. Do not however put just any picture . A site without any pictures is vastly preferable to a site with many pictures that are blurred or low pixels. Remember that your site is there to make your products look good and to entice people to buy. So, post clear and crisp pictures on your site. One downside though of having pictures on your site is the fact that graphics can be pretty heavy. The pictures can actually make your website harder to download. This can discourage a lot of users especially those who are not using broadband connections with their internet.

eBay Account

Buying and selling in eBay is actually very easy. Just open an account, answer some questions about yourself and voila! you are ready to auction off any item to people around the world. but before you do that, here are some things that may help you make your site more inviting to bidders. Read on and you will get valuable ebay auction strategies that will for sure help you generate more online traffic and eventually income.

Build a solid reputation

The internet is a pretty small community. What you do there will eventually be known throughout the web. This is the reason why it is important for you to build a sterling reputation when doing business. The eBay for instance has a section where users or people you have dealt can comment on your business practices.

A 100% approval rating can go a long long way especially with people who are reluctant to deal with people that they do not know. Maintain a good business relationship with all people for you will never know when it will be advantageous for you.

Put a fair price

eBay is primarily an auction site. This means that the price that you put in can still go up depending on the demand for the product that you have posted. In putting price tags for your product, it is good to do some research first and find out the price of the product in the market as well as the demand for it. The higher the demand, the higher the price that you can ask for it.

Foreign Workers in the Usa and UK

Description:

In the USA recently over 1 million immigrants, both legal and illegal protested at there lack of rights and residency in a country that many of them have spent years working in. The protests meant that basic, menial and often labour intensive jobs were not done that day. Hotel laundry was not washed and the streets not cleaned in many areas.

Content:

The US Senate has reached a deal that could see the approval of a stalled bill that would grant millions of illegal immigrants the right to stay. One of the Senate bill's key provisions is the opening of a path to eventual citizenship for about 11 million illegal immigrants.

The House bill would criminalise illegal immigrants and create a vast fence on the southern US border. It has sparked huge street protests from immigrant groups and put the issue high on the agenda for November's mid-term elections. The Latinos are the fastest growing minority and George Bush is keen to win their votes.

A similar debate is also raging in the UK regarding the influx of mainly Polish workers into the UK, along with Slovaks due to the enlargement of the European Union (EU) in 2004. This meant that the 8 Accession countries could come to the UK without visa’s to work. Most European countries imposed a ban on these workers entering there job market without visas, but the UK saw this opportunity for labour migration and welcomed it with open arms.

The result was over 250,000 Polish workers coming to the UK over a two year period. This new, cheap, hard working labour is now propping up certain industries such as construction. The Anti-immigrant UK Independence Party leader hired Polish builders to work on his country mansion, the hypocrisy of some people beggars believe!! But he must confirm what a recent Joseph Rowntree Foundation research concluded which was that the study reveals that 75% of employers felt that European enlargement had been good for business and that employers valued highly qualified migrant workers for low-skilled and low-waged work. They also preferred benefiting from what they see as the work ethic and reliability of migrant workers to employing reluctant UK nationals who some described as lazy.

But this low cost labour is means that wages are kept low nationally for the host population that are looking for employment. Those EU Nationals that are entitled to state benefits receive top-ups to their income via Working Tax Credits and other benefits.

So how much is the UK actually benefiting in monetary terms? I don’t think anybody has worked that out just yet! The EU is about to decide whether to expand further and allow both Bulgaria and Romania to join, the UK had already hinted at some form of labour control to prevent the expected labour migration once again.

Setting up a Blog can be an exciting and rewarding career. You don't have to be a Web Designer or a Marketing Guru in order to make it. AGLOCO is the easiest way you will ever make money online. AGLOCO

Setting up a Blog, can be an exciting experience as it has been for me. In those days, one had to be a web designer or a marketing guru of some sort in order to create one. I wanted to set up a Blog of my own but didn't know where to and how to? But new generation dot.Com's have come up and they make it so easy for someone to set up one and even easier to make money.

As I have set up my own Blog - nihalsanythingneverything.blogspot.com, other things started to crop up in my mind, how to start advertising, how to increase traffic, how to create links etc? In my quest to search the answers, i found AGLOCO. This is something great i tell you. All you have to do is :

* Become a Member - by briefly completing a sign-up page (it's entirely free)

* Download a View bar - to do an Internet search (spy ware free) it will be placed at the bottom of your screen, so as to not distract the whole page (the downloads will be ready in a few weeks)

* It's now your Company - (get cash and other benefits)

* Invite your Friends - (e-mails, chat, phone, blogs.....) The more referrals, the more you tend to make.

The secret to all this, lies in the View bar. Just turn it on for 5 hours in a MONTH (That's all ???), and you will get paid! Unbelievable but true. It's like you watching advertisements on your TV or Newspaper but you don't get paid, here it's different, they pay you for watching.

Another way of adding money on top of the View bar payments that you would already get, is that you introduce AGLOCO to everybody around the world, and you will make 25% of what they make in the referral system that is provided by the Company. That's not all, this referral system goes 5 level deep. Can you see the Big Picture here?

So my honest opinion, don't wait. If making money online is something serious you want to do, CLICK HERE and start that money making machine of yours.

Make Your Technology Work For You, Not Against You

Description:

Simple technology precautions for the self employed

Content:

Technology is a beautiful thing. Use it wisely! Here are a few tips to getting your technology to work for your optimum success.

Get a backup, get a backup, get a backup. Need I say more? If you put out a lot of content set it up back up every day, if not once a week should be fine. And don't rely on your memory to do it either... look for a zip drive that has software that automatically does it for you. I like the IOmega drives (their 80 gig drive is perfect for most systems and at $99.95 is affordable) You can find it here

Label your peripherals wires. Sure, you know what it's for now, but after a while your digital recorder wire, digital camera wire, webcam wire and all of those other ones start to look an awful lot alike.

Get a nice big Ziploc bag and stuff it full of all your software, then put it in a safe place. You know that disk that came with your computer when you bought it and you've never used? Well, wait til the day you can't download something from your digital recorder without it (this has happened to me!). All of a sudden it is your lifeline.

Keep an extra AC adapter for your laptop. When my wire frayed and I contacted my computer's manufacturer, they advised me that they don't carry them for the "old" models. How old? Just over 18 months.

Keep a folder with all your manuals and call it "Electronics Manuals." If you're figuring you won't need that manual you won't... until you have an important presentation in 3 hours and your printer is spitting magenta ink at you. Keep it. You'll read it some day and chances are when you need it you'll need it in a hurry. Make it easy to find.

Your phone will be your best friend. If your business is running like you want it to, you'll be on the phone many hours of the day. Splurge for one that sounds great and has a good battery life. A headset can save you lots of neck pain. You can't go wrong with almost anything from Plantronics. I like my Plantronics MX500 with my Panasonic cordless phones. The Plantronics stays with me and there are 3 Panasonics (I use a Panasonic Triple Talk) so it is virtually impossible to be without at least 1 charged phone. Find the headset here.

Invest in a good digital recorder. They are versatile and easy to use. You can use them to capture ideas as they come to you (why is it that all good ideas come when you're doing 60 mph on the highway?), record an important conversation, create product by interviewing experts or being interviewed (for phone recordings, you'll need a $10 doo-dad from RadioShack that lets you plug the recorder to your phone. For this you need at least 1 corded phone) or create a recording every time you speak in public (the big gurus make gazillions with this one use of the digital recorder alone). Not bad for a gadget that runs you less than $200. Olympus, the industry leader, has several new models that not only act as a digital recorder but as an mp3 player as well. Check out the WS-310M here.

Keep your computer "clean." I set up a monthly recurring appointment to clean out any programs I don't use that might be taking up memory unnecessarily, plus to archive or delete old documents I no longer regularly use. Keeping your computer "lean" makes it go faster and makes finding things easier... saving you days, weeks or even months of your life that you would otherwise spend slogging through tons of information you don't need.

Create a Parking Lot. Do you get a lot of ideas? Do they end up on scraps of paper or strangely named documents you later can't understand at all (if you can find them?) Your ideas are valuable and if you're managing your time wisely, you know you can't work on them all know. Create a "Parking Lot" file and keep 2 sub-files in it: "Ideas" and "To Complete," (fragments of articles, programs, etc.). In a third "Inspiration" folder you can also keep articles, blog entries and e-mails that give you an idea for something you could be doing. Technology can be tremendously useful in keeping you productive and on track.

Be diligent about keeping your contacts in order. Set up a time each day, or at the least, each week to input the scraps of paper you collect into your information database. Phone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses, business cards, etc., should be all in one place where you can search them electronically. I use Outlook and find it just fine for my purposes. Some people prefer ACT! Software. Find it here: http://www.act.com/

And finally... step away from the computer, the phone and the recorder and go get some fresh air! Technology is a beautiful thing but it is just a tool that doesn't replace real, personal communication and freedom. Let it work for you and it can create magic.

Ways to Make Money

Content:

What are the best ways to make money?

If you answered, "a job", then you have been brainwashed like most Americans into believe that working for a company is the best way to make money. It is absolutely NOT one of the best ways to make money. Why not?

Most jobs have the following problems:

1. The time trap. You are trading your time for money. Even if you are a salaried employee, you are accepting a salary for a set number of hours that you will work each week. If you don't work, you don't get paid. Most companies want you to work the most amount of time for the least money and you want to work the least amount of time for the most money. The job game is a lose-lose game.

2. No passive income. If you stop working for any period of time, you stop receiving paychecks. Your money doesn't work for you.

3. No intellectual capital. If you are an employee, your company owns your intellectual capital. It's like your company owns your brain. You cannot sell or share your ideas and earn money.

4. No control. You have no control over your work life and therefore your life. You cannot choose where you work, when you work, or who you work with. Most companies require a lot of "face time". Even if you could get your work done in 4 hours each day, you usually need to spend 8-10 hours onsite to prove that you are a "loyal employee". You have no control over most of the decisions that are being made at your company. Bad decisions made by others could put your company out of business and then you get "downsized" or "rightsized" or simply laid-off.

5. No leverage. Entertainers and professional athletes make lots and lots of money because they have leverage. Millions of people watch them. They can make one movie or play one game a week and make buckets of money because they are reaching a huge audience with a few hours of their time. In a job, your efforts reach a limited audience. You cannot give a speech to your department and record it and then turn it into a teleclass that you sell over and over again on your website. You have no leverage.

So, what are some better ways to make money without going to a job?

1. Start a business. Yes, lots of businesses fail. But small businesses are the engine of growth in this country. It took Bill Gates 10 years to become a billionaire with Microsoft. It took Michael Dell 5 years to become a billionaire with Dell. What you need is a solid plan and then the courage to execute the plan and the discipline to market your products or services consistently. There has never been a better time to get rich by starting a company. What are your goals? When do you want to achieve those goals?

If you want to start a business quickly and don't have the necessary business fundamentals or want a pre-designed, proven system, then look into joining a network marketing company. If you can find a product you love, a company with a proven marketing system and a management with integrity, you can develop a great passive income stream.

Do your own research and see if it makes sense for you to start your company from ground zero or join a network marketing company. There are lots of good network marketing companies to choose from. (There are also lots that aren't such good bets.)

2. Real Estate. Isn't this risky? There are no risky real estate investments, only risky investors. You can minimize risk through education and experience.

Don't you need money to get into real estate investing? For most commercial real estate deals, yes. But you can succeed with no-money down investing in the residential arena. In fact, it may be better to start out investing with no money of your own because you will only do great deals. You will not waste any of your money chasing marginal deals.

Land is in limited supply, especially near the oceans. Land will almost always increase in value. There may be some small "corrections" in the short term, but if you invest in the right areas, chances are they will appreciate. Plus, you can learn to make money in up and down markets.

3. Investing in other companies. Many people put their money in a mutual fund or index fun and are happy with 5-10% appreciation each year. But, there are other ways to invest. Investigate individual stocks. What products and services do you love so much that you tell other people about them? Remember, you make a profit when you buy not when you sell. It is impossible to know what the future holds. Do your homework. Find stocks that are bargains today.

4. Selling your intellectual capital. Another good way to make money is to develop products and services around your ideas. These could include books, tapes and CDs, workshops, videos, etc. This is a great way to create passive income streams.

My purpose here is not to give you a roadmap for becoming a CEO or a successful investor but to open your mind to the possibilities. There are so many great opportunities. If you are staying in a job that you hate because you think it is the best way to make money, then, think again.

Leadership Excellence: Retaining the Best People Requires a Foundation of Trust

Description:

Attracting and retaining the best people requires a corporate culture that values mutual trust and openness. In this article, Jay Gordon Cone explores four leadership strategies for building open and collaborative relationships in the workplace.

Content:

Jay Gordon Cone

We accept that trust is a key enabler of efficient and productive working relationships. We’re less sure about what it means to say we trust someone and even more perplexed by what it takes to engender trust. Let’s call the moment of trust that point in time when you have to make a decision and the outcome is both uncertain and dependent what someone else chooses to do. In this article, I want to come at the moment of trust from the perspective of the leader who wants to create conditions favorable to trust.

In particular, I want to focus on the three primary factors that impact the choice someone makes in a moment of trust: 1) How uncertain is the outcome? 2) How high are the stakes? 3) How familiar is the situation?

Business leaders can’t do much to lower real risks or to alter a person’s prior experience with trust. They can, however, impact the level of uncertainty their team experiences and raise the chances that someone will opt to trust.

Certainty helps people feel in control. Uncertainty can have the opposite effect, causing people to doubt, grow fearful, and imagine the worst. The higher the stakes, the greater an impact uncertainty will have, and the greater the reward for mitigating its effects. Successful strategies to deal with uncertainty can create a "virtuous cycle" of trust and positive outcomes. A series of positive outcomes creates a new shared history for team members to draw on.

How do you raise people’s tolerance for uncertainty? Model the behavior you wish to see: openness, collaboration, and genuineness, for a start. Then, consider the antidote to uncertainty and fear: consistent and reliable information from a trusted source. Here are four specific behaviors trustworthy leaders consistently employ.

Clarify what’s been decided and what hasn’t
Everyone’s been in meetings where management poses a problem, then “brainstorms” the answer with everyone at the table. Trouble is, the decisions have already been made. The meeting is just a way to break the news, and maybe get some appreciation for how tough a decision it was to make. These "answer key" meetings rarely fool anyone, and tend to create resentment rather than trust.

Transparency is the answer. Letting people know whether they’re being convened to react, provide input, or decide will accelerate decision making and give people clarity about their roles during times of uncertainty. Without transparent decision making processes, people fill in gaps in information with their own inferred data, which may be rife with judgments and biased conclusions.

Argyris' Ladder of Inference shows how conclusions are reached; most of us are so facile at the process we’re not even aware we’re constructing a world that may have little correlation to others' reality. In a team environment, a heavy reliance on inferred data can impair the productive functioning of the group and give rise to rumor and suspicion.

Model openness and vulnerability
A team takes its lead from the person in charge. If you demonstrate that it's okay to make mistakes, and that you don’t have all the answers, it builds more trust within the team than a top-down style will. Strengthening the group begins with skilled, authentic engagement. As the team grows stronger, the group leader can relax the hierarchy somewhat. The overall goal is to get team members to give one another the benefit of the doubt and take risks together in creative, collaborative work. The best leaders are those who can walk through the cafeteria, sit down for a chat, and still get up in front of a group of 400 and command their respect. Don’t base your leadership style on some idealized version of the perfect leader; be the perfectly authentic version of yourself and others will trust you.

Balance inquiry and advocacy in communications
When should I communicate through asking for information and when should I communicate through expressing a point of view? It may be one of the toughest parts of a leader’s job to keep team members up to date while listening to their thoughts in a way that demonstrates both your empathy and your flexibility. Trusted leaders are those whose opinions are known and yet they remain open-minded when presented with new information.

One way to find a good balance is using the Inquiry and Advocacy model. It shows a range of communications behaviors, with authoritative, top-down communications on one end of the continuum. On the other is questioning or inquiry behavior, that shows your willingness to hear what people around you have to say, and demonstrates your understanding of their ideas. In small group settings, a balance of inquiry and advocacy can yield excellent results. Use a combination of expressing and soliciting opinions. When people are willing to be open with one another, you have a foundation for building trust. Good give-and-take between team members also raises people's levels of involvement because they feel they have a personal stake in the outcome. When group buy-in to a decision is high, execution is more likely to be successful.

Share a consistent vision
Leaders know what they want. Collaborative leaders find opportunities to clarify what they want to others in a way that invites dialogue without second-guessing. Goals focus teams and lessen uncertainty. Organization-wide goals over the long term let people know that there is a guiding hand at the helm, and a shared set of objectives. Achieving those objectives demonstrates congruence between what is stated and what is done, reinforcing that trust is warranted and that the next challenge may be accomplished.

The object here is not to eliminate uncertainty. It is to recognize the interrelationship between people being uncomfortable because they don’t know what is going happen, and their willingness to trust others whom they perceive to have more control over the situation than they do. Having trust in a leader goes a long way toward alleviating that anxiety. No one can predict the future, but over time, people do learn to predict the kinds of behaviors they can expect from their leaders. Trustworthy leaders replace uncertainly about a situation with predictability about how the organization will respond.

Enjoy Your Happy Pregnancy!

Let's now talk about the very happy pregnancy! It goes without saying that happy people tend to feel better and have a more positive outlook on life and the lemons we are sometimes dealt. The same is true of expectant moms.

Probably the best way to be happy is to be happy. Unfortunately, no one can provide a universal formula for happiness. What we can recommend is that you try to adapt a positive mindset; instead of asking, "What else could go wrong?" ask, "What am I most grateful for?" Taking a few minutes to count your blessings can help you put perspective on any situation.

You can also increase your happiness levels by participating in meaningful work, giving back to others and cultivating healthy relationships. A happy person develops a sense of empowerment—that her happiness cannot be taken from her.

Certainly, happiness brings out the best in each of us and helps us see the best in ourselves. And for expecting moms, pregnancy is one of those times when they most need to believe the best in themselves. For example, we remind expectant moms to be happy, because:

1. You are creating life, an extraordinarily miraculous gift!

2. You have never looked more beautiful, voluptuous or motherly!

3. You have the rare pleasure of eating whatever you want, whenever you want (Take advantage-this perk doesn't last!)

4. You can unabashedly shop for cute baby outfits—darling caps and booties—and squeal with glee when you find the perfect shade of mint green on a baby creeper!

5. You can take secret delight in the jealous stares of others; there is nothing in the world more precious than a pregnant woman with a rounded belly and a motherly glow!

So, if you are pregnant, always try to be happy, even though there are some changes within you, the unpleasant ones, just like what you will see below.

The Changes in Pregnancy

Every woman who has experienced a pregnancy knows that changes come within the nine months. Naturally, our bodies change. Our boobs get bigger and our tummies expand, taking us on a whirlwind from one craving to the next. What are the other changes?

* Morning sickness, which can happen at anytime during the day, is also a new change for expectant moms. Foods and even smells we once loved can send us into a hurl on a second's notice. On top of that, we get to enjoy sweating like piglets, pimple outbreaks, exhaustion and sore feet and backs.

* The emotional and mental changes. You've got to start getting into the Mom Mindset, so you tend to become more protective of others. See your husband using a knife that looks too sharp? Better run over and cut that tomato yourself!

* Indeed, we women take our roles as mothers seriously—sometimes too seriously. Sometimes we work ourselves into tearful outbursts over anything from a sad movie to a dirty rug during our pregnancies.

* Becomes irrational occasionally. Mood swings are totally normal, too. A pregnant woman's body is going through hormonal changes, and spouses and others are well-advised to not taking anything personally.

Evaluate Every New Business Opportunity Before You Leap

This article will review some of the criteria you may want to consider before taking the leap into your new business opportunity.

Every business opportunity that comes along for your consideration should be reviewed from several different perspectives before you decide to invest both your time and money. This review should be considered regardless of whether the idea is a large or a small opportunity. Corporations do this every day with every new business they look at to satisfy themselves that they are investing their resources the most efficiently. This article will review some of the criteria you may want to consider before taking the leap into your new business opportunity.

The evaluation of a new endeavor regardless of what it is should consider the following criteria. Economic, strategic fit with your company, resources required, payback compared to other opportunities and in the case of small businesses, does your family support your initiatives. We will examine each of these in a bit more detail.

Every business opportunity should be evaluated from return on investment perspective. Business owners will invest both their time and their money into the business. The question you want to answer is whether you will receive net profit after all expenses are paid that will amount to more than you could get from other types of investments. This involves estimating sales revenues, the cost to generate sales, operations expenses to run the company, produce your product and support your product to your customers. Depending on your business opportunity this can be a complex analysis, but certainly worth it in the long run. If there are other opportunities that will be more profitable, perhaps you will want to invest in those instead.

Next, owners should evaluate the strategic fit of this opportunity with their existing business and with themselves. If you have an existing operation, will the new addition compliment existing products and services or will it effectively be a totally new operation. Does it take your business in the direction that you want your company to go in? If this is a new idea for you to consider, does it fit with what you the business owner like to do? These are important questions, since there is no sense investing in something that in a year or two you wished that you had not invested because you dislike the work.

Resources are always a large part of the decision to proceed with a new business opportunity. Resources consist of people you need to run the business, money to operate your business, buy supplies and pay salaries. In addition you have to be able to find skilled people and either raw materials or finished goods that fit your business profile. Sometimes these resources are just not available.

Lastly, every good management team is supported by family members or by a board of directors or by mentors that will assist in the new venture. It is important that you have the support of these people. They must understand the business concept and potential and be willing to support you in your endeavors. Sometimes even detractors should be listened to, since they may have thought of something that you did not consider.

After you have completed your evaluation, it is always a good idea to step back and look at the big picture to consider all aspects of your business opportunity. Once you are satisfied, you can make an informed decision regarding proceeding with investment or looking for another opportunity.
