The Consequences of not Having a Good Quality Curriculum Vitae

Description:

This word is Latin in origin. ‘Curriculum Vitae’ (CV) translates to course and life.

Content:

What is a CV?

CV means the course of one’s life. This definition of a CV surprises many. For people often think that CVs are meant to be resumes.

CV is a summary of the academic qualifications and achievements of a person. Typically this summary includes a detailed description of all the awards and honors conferred on a person, presented logically. Though individual style and presentation vary the basic content of a CV remains the same.

There are the varied differences between a CV and a resume.

  • CVs are longer than resumes.

  • CVs place special emphasis on research capabilities and teaching experience. Resumes contain a crisp, brief mention of these.

  • CVs detail work experience related to the relevant field of teaching and research. Where as resumes contain all the experience gathered by the candidate in the course of time.

CVs and resumes are the two different terms. Some countries so frequently use them interchangeably that, they finally assume the same meaning.

Importance of Having a Good Quality Updated Resume

  • It’s a well known fact that many people apply for a job. The life of a resume, in the hands of an employer is just a few seconds. In other words the prospective employer glances at the resume. In such a short time only excellently written resumes catch attention. A resume that highlights all the salient features in a candidate’s education and work experience ensures the interview call.

  • Employers seem to operate on the logic that a person who works at preparing a good resume would work well in the job too. Many people, unaware of this logic present carelessly written resumes. Three out of ten resumes are rejected due to poor presentation. A person loses the job even before the interview call.

  • Poor CVs have spelling mistakes, fancy print or are written on poor quality paper. Such resumes get rejected in spite of the candidate’s good education and relevant work experience. Badly written resumes get the right candidate rejected.

Financial Costs of Bad Resumes

Bad resumes have many hidden costs. The loss of a good job is remuneration loss. In other words it is a financial loss. Good quality updated resumes help a person get the dream job. Bad resumes also get job offers. But these jobs are low paid and unattractive.

Psychological Costs of Poor Resumes

Poor resumes get repeatedly rejected. Repetitive rejection degrades a person bringing in extreme loss of self confidence. Good jobs brought in by good resumes elevate the social standing of a person.

Companies that Specialize in Writing Resumes

There are plenty of companies that specialize in writing resumes. They work online or they have regular offices where clients can interact with them personally. The clients fill in questionnaires with relevant details. These details are so impressively presented that they reveal the handiwork of a professional.

Resume writing companies can create different types of CVs to suit individual client requirements. The CVs are written by professionals with experience in the workings of the HR department.

Can They Be Bought Online?

Purchasing resumes online is an extremely simple procedure. The customer is presented with a questionnaire. This is filled up and submitted to the company. Once the company receives the details and the payment, they begin work.

The relevant details given in the form; are converted to a resume. The prepared draft is sent to the client for approval. Changes (if any) are made and the final resume is prepared. This resume is sent to the client who takes print outs of it. Alternately the company might take print outs of the resume on good quality paper. These are then mailed to the customer.

Many online companies offer complimentary services like giving relevant advice over phone or through email. Some companies offer to carry out free updates to the resume. Different companies charge differently. Rates vary according to the type of resume created or the number of complimentary services on offer.

Resume or CV writing follows no strict format. The only requisite is that it has to be well written. A good resume speaks for the candidate. Two important facts are worth remembering. A resume should not only be qualitative, it should be truthfully qualitative. And good CVs carry a covering letter.

Crucial First Actions for Every Online Business Owner

Description:

Instead of thinking about the money, the most crucial thing that every online business owner must do is focus on building, growing, and maintaining their newsletter lists.

Content:

When starting an online business, many people have a single motivation to make money, and make it quick. While this is an understandable goal, and the dream of many, we must divert our attention from "money" to "value" and "meaning". Maybe that sounds cliché, but it is unbelievable how often this one simple concept is ignored. How do we create value and meaning in our businesses? We build relationships. How do we build relationships online? We build a subscriber list. So now the first thing online business owners do is they buy subscribers - many of whom don't really care about what you have to offer anyway. They are not targeted subscribers and they are the ones who may end up unsubscribing. Instead of thinking about the money, the most crucial thing that every online business owner must do is focus on building, growing, and maintaining their newsletter lists.

Now the next thing online business owners will do, and I am guilty of it too, is they will promote and advertise their website, their website's products and services, and their affiliate links in forums, in ezine ads, in offline advertising, in Google Adwords, in their author by-lines, and in traffic exchanges to try and make a sale from their links. This may very well work for generating sales, but the crucial action we need to take is not promoting and advertising our links, but to promote and advertise our newsletter opt-in page so that we can build our subscriber lists. Sure, sales can come in from strangers around the net, but the most important sales that you can ever make are the ones you get from your list. Why? Because you know that you have built some sort of trust with your subscribers. They have loyally followed you through your auto-responder series, mixed with messages of your own that have made them say, "Hey, now this is someone I don't mind doing business with!" Once you have made one sale with someone on your list, you can build and maintain that relationship and offer more of value to them. Getting traffic to your site is not about getting people to click on your links and buy something. Getting traffic to your site is about giving people the opportunity to join your list.

Unfortunately, opportunity is not enough in this case. Most of us know that we need to have an ezine on our site that visitors can subscribe to. We've all got one and we think we're ready now to bring in the masses. Wrong again! We have to give people a reason to subscribe to our list. For most people it's not enough to just sign up to get yet another person's mass of emails that will litter their in-boxes and which may never be read. In fact, it's no bonus to just sign up for someone's newsletter at all! Besides that, our readers want something more. Yes, your newsletter will be packed with free tips and techniques and secret weapons for becoming the next internet marketing millionaire. But our subscribers also need to be enticed with a free special report, a mini e-course, and a special mystery bonus that they will get only after they have opted in. This has to be offered to them fast too, as most visitors won't stay on your page for more than a minute! A pop-up can be an effective way of capturing names and email addresses quickly.

Once you've got subscribers, you want to build that relationship with them. There are a few ways to engage your subscribers so that you don't lose them. If you let your auto-responder do all the work, you may be in trouble. Subscribers know that online business owners are busy people and they have an automatic email system. While this may provide valuable information, it is no substitute for a real relationship. By simply adding your own personal messages and exposing a bit of your own personality, you will start capturing your subscribers' attention, and building trust, honesty, and integrity with them. You also want to inspire your readers to take some kind of action. By "taking action" I do not mean buying your products and services! I mean involve them in the process. Subscribers can answer a survey you put out about their needs, they can ask questions that you put on a FAQ list, they can participate by telling you what they want to see on your site, they can offer testimonials, and they can become involved in joint ventures.

When you promote your opt-in list, give a compelling reason to join, and build a relationship of trust by adding a personal touch and involving your customers in the process, they will begin to see that you have something of value to offer them. It is then that you are on your way to creating a loyal customer base, and eventually you will bring in the money that motivated you in the first place.

Consultative Sales Professionals Fulfil Three Basic Roles

Description:

As we are all aware, getting to know the customer and understanding their needs is not a quick and easy process. Customers possess a hierarchy of needs which have to be uncovered gradually. This is why we need a new type of salesperson for a new type of customer.

Content:

As we are all aware, getting to know the customer and understanding their needs is not a quick and easy process. Customers possess a hierarchy of needs which have to be uncovered gradually. This is why we need a new type of salesperson for a new type of customer.

So what does this new breed of salesperson look like? For a start he or she has progressed from the more traditional, 'lone ranger' approach of selling to a more team-based consultative style. Our research shows that a consultative salesperson needs to fulfil three basic roles, that of Business Consultant, Long Term Ally and Strategic Orchestrator.

By combining all three roles salespeople are more able to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients. At the same time, organisations need to ensure that they provide their salespeople with the vital support systems and training that enable them to make the most of their knowledge and skills

Business Consultant:

Gone are the days in which a salesperson could simply walk into an office, establish a good rapport with the client, show he/she had thorough knowledge of their products and services and clinch the sale. Nowadays, the emphasis is on establishing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships and in order to achieve this, the salesperson needs to earn the right to continue discussions with his/her client. Before they can proceed to sell their products or services, the salesperson needs to reassure the client of their integrity, reliability and ability to understand and recommend the appropriate solution. They can do this by demonstrating;

Up-to-date knowledge of business news and current affairs
Best practices include - reading newspapers, magazines, journals, trade publications and other sources of business information; maintaining membership of appropriate professional organisations; acknowledging gaps in knowledge and taking steps to fill them; locating or developing databases with information on customers, their industries and their own customers.

An in-depth understanding of the customer's industry, company and strategies as well as an appreciation of "the big picture".
Best practices include - gaining an understanding of the issues at all levels of the customer's organisation including strategic, departmental and individual needs; seeking to understand the customer's perceptions of market trends, company direction, plus potential product and service needs.

A readiness to exchange information and ideas between the supplier and client organisation.
Best practices include - familiarising the customer with your own industry and companies; sharing useful business information even if it does not directly impact on the sales effort; demonstrating the cost-cutting or revenue producing benefits of your products and services.

The ability to listen and absorb information.
Best practices include - refining the way you identify customer's needs by asking the right questions and listening actively to customer comments; speaking at the listener's level of knowledge; using stories and analogies effectively; asking for feedback on the clarity of your message. By demonstrating comprehensive knowledge, outstanding communication skills and the proper attitude, the salesperson earns the right to move beyond the role of supplier to that of a valued business consultant

Strategic Orchestrator:

To fulfil this role, the salesperson needs to be seen as the key person responsible for engineering the appropriate solution. This involves co-ordinating all of the information, resources and activities needed to support customers before, during and after the sale. It means enlisting support from specialist colleagues and hence the move away from the "lone ranger" approach.

According to our research, effective Strategic Orchestrators have mastered the following competencies:

Knowledge of their own company's structure
Expertise in developing and managing a team
Ability to manage priorities and performance
Ability to co-ordinate delivery and service to customers
Efficiency
Flexibility

Customers of Strategic Orchestrators express a high level of confidence in the salesperson and his or her organisation:

This increased confidence can lead to faster buying decisions, increased repeat business and strengthened links between customer and supplier organisations. Working as Strategic Orchestrators, salespeople are also able to develop their organisation's capacity for team selling.

Long Term Ally:

Since the key to differentiation is in forging closer links with clients, the role of Long Term Ally is a crucial one. Once the salesperson has earned the right, it is important to develop and maintain the relationship.

As the term suggests, acting as a Long Term Ally, involves maintaining contact with the client even when there is no immediate prospect for a sale. It also suggests that the salesperson needs to be committed to the long-term development of the relationship. Our research shows that top salespeople demonstrate this commitment by continuously looking for ways to:

Build interpersonal trust
Create and maintain a positive image of the sales organisation
Inspire respect for their company
Show genuine concern for their customers' short and long-term interest
Identify ways to strengthen the quality of their business relationship
Help the customer meet needs within his or her organisation
Deal with issues openly and honestly
Deliver on promises

It is also crucial for the salesperson to ensure that the relationship between the organisations is mutually beneficial. In other words, it is essential to build and honour the expectation that reaching agreements will mean good business for both parties.

At the end of the day, taking a long-term approach proves more profitable since the customer will recognise that the salesperson is taking a committed interest and in so doing is giving honest and open advice. This inevitably encourages the customer to trust the salesperson and to view him or her as a colleague rather than an opponent

In Summary: Long Term Allies and Mutually Beneficial Agreements.

Supplier Organisations Must Be Willing To......

Elicit feedback from customers regarding overall satisfaction with the products / services delivered.
Maintain regular contact with current and prospective customers
Alert customers to new developments in own organisation
Review the business relationship underlying each account on a regular basis

Buyer Organisation Must Be Willing To......

Keep suppliers "in the loop" regarding the company's strategic direction and needs
Value the record of service provided by supplier organisations above lower cost competitors
Grant access and information about their customers to the supplier organisations

Why Don't I Have Enough Money?

Description:

I guarantee this is a question you have asked yourself sometime or another. Whether its at the end of each month when the money runs out and there are still bills to pay, or as you look in the shop window at the latest TV or dream holiday that you can't

Content:

I guarantee this is a question you have asked yourself sometime or another. Whether its at the end of each month when the money runs out and there are still bills to pay, or as you look in the shop window at the latest TV or dream holiday that you can't afford.

Despite the gloom and doom declarations about unemployment and job losses its a fact that the vast majority of the population are working, and working very hard! Some families are holding down three jobs and work all hours just to bring enough money in to survive.

So what is the problem? Do we all live exotic expensive lives? Are we all driving Mustangs and wearing Gucci?

No of course not. The problem is we live in a world where we are conditioned to expect to be paid a tiny amount per hour for each hour we toil for our employer!

We have to work a set number of hours to earn enough to pay for the essentials of daily living. We earn just enough to pay for our needs each day so we can turn up for work again the next day and so on and so on until we retire.

How much per hour we are paid depends on our 'skills' as we are all told. Graduating college, retraining, up skilling are all terms we hear each day. That is how our pay is worked out. We are measured by our employers perception of our worth to them as a unit of prodution. That is why we all fight and claw our way up the corporate ladder to get that next promotion! We have to show our employers we are worth more than the others! Think of the extra hours and effort you put into get to the next level and all for a $2.50 an hour raise!

This is the way we have been conditioned to think. Our worth per hour. Its measured down to the last cent. Do you think you are only worth the $X per hour you are being paid? Whether you are getting $5 or $50 an hour do you think you are worth more that? You are an individual with hopes and aspirations. You might be a husband, wife, father or mother? I bet your answer is yes. Of course it is. Your hourly pay is the minimum your emloyer has worked out they can get away with paying you. Think about that! The minimum! What does one person do that earns $100,000 a year compared to someone that makes $20,000. Is the $100,000 person a 5 times better human being? I dont think so. It's just that their employer has worked out what they have to pay in that world to keep their production unit. Sound familiar? Its the same for every employee. You have an hourly rate of pay and thats it.

If you work 10 hours a day then your working life is approx 195,000 hours. If you get $10 an hour that means over your lifetime you get $1,950,000. Sounds a lot doesnt it? Imagine if you won that on the lottery? Yippee! No more work. Buy the house and car, kids go to college, holidays every year! The problem is that this huge amount of money is spread over a 40 year working life. Drip fed into your bank by the hour, day or week. No wonder we dont have enough money each month. It gets eaten away by bills, tax, repairs and all of lifes little expenses!

Is there a better way? I think there is. We need to throw away the idea of our hourly worth. The mind set that if you sit at your desk doing your 'JOB' for an hour you will get $X has to go! What if you could find a way that let you decide when you worked and your earnings were unlimited? Sound interesting? No boss to tell you what to do. No fixed hours and if its sunny, then go play. This is real. Its called the internet and for literally millions of people it is providing them with the means to earn umlimited incomes without having to work endless boring hours. People from all walks of life are finding that there is a way they can work smarter and not harder.

The internet provides access to close on 1 billion people around the world! That is the biggest opportunity market place on the planet. The huge advantage of an internet business is you can work it from home, car or on holiday. If you can get to a laptop you could be on the beach getting a tan and still earn money. Getting started is so easy. Websites can be made for you, products provided for you to sell and questions from customers can be automatically answered by FAQ's. Product can be shipped by someone else or if your product is electronic simply downloaded by customers. You can earn money online 24 hours a day when you are asleep or shopping. There is no more 'an hours pay for an hours work' mentality. People are raking in $100,000 easily working a fraction of the hours of a convential JOB!. An internet business is hands off and completely flexible. If you don't want to run it for a few weeks then no problem because there are no premisis to pay for or employees that need wages. Just walk away and pick it up again when you want to.

Sounds great doesnt it? Flexible, unlimited earnings, more time with family or doing the hobbies you have always wanted to do. As i have said all the things you need to get started online can be easily set up. Your virtual shop window can be up and running in a matter of days or minutes if you sign up for one of the many affiliate programs. However. Once any shop is opened it needs customers to come in, browse and then buy! Online businesses are no different. Your website is your shop window and you need visitors to find it. No visitors no business! This is where the internet gets tough. There are millions of people surfing the net looking for things and millions of websites trying to tempt them to buy. How is your shop window going to stand out amongst all those others?

The toughest part of any internet business is getting customers (traffic as it is called) to your site. Marketing has become the golden mantra of internet success. If you market right you make a fortune. Its that simple. Does that mean that everyone on the interent is a marketing genius? Sadly no. 90% of internet sites don't make money because they are not successfully marketing themselves. There are an army of advisors out there that offer all sorts of help. Improving your website, search engine rankings, email blasting, etc. You name it its on offer. Which one do you choose? How much will advertising cost? What will the returns be? Difficult questions when all you want to do is have a nice easy internet business to earn some extra money!

There is an alternative to spending a fortune on advertising with uncertain results. A few savy companies are offering what could be the perfect solution for the person looking for a second income or a life changing amount of money. These companies provide a very good quality website offfering a high value in demand product. These websites have a video presentation and give lots of information to the visitor about what is being offered. The visitor is asked for their email address so further information can be sent to them. All this is done automatically without you lifting a finger. The visitor is also invited to an online meeting where they can ask all the questions they want and talk to other people also interested in what the site has to offer, again, all without you doing a thing. To make things even easier for you, if the visitor wants to talk to a real person and ask questions they can submit a request for a contact and a representative will call them and answer all their questions. All this is done for you while you carry on with your life.

What about getting the visitors I hear you ask? Well this is where the new breed of company really come into their own! They set up automatic advertising for you! There is a cost but every business has to advertise and it is minimal (the same level as a really good meal out per month). You do no advertising at all, no selling and no talking to anyone! Payments come direct you. The best of these companies even offer a solid guarantee you will make a profit!.

This is the sort of business that is exploding right now. The average person is not, and does not have time to learn how to be a marketing expert. They appreciate the incredible possiblities of the internet and want a good product offered in a great way with a constant supply of visitors to buy it. This option provides all that whilst allowing people to continue with their lives or retire early and enjoy what this type of business has to offer.

This type of business is exploding in popularity as people realise they can make real money online without huge marketing skills or budgets!

Do You Dare Throw Away the Script and Start a Conversation

Description:

Stop the sales pitch and start talking and listening to your customer. "It's an amazing feeling, says Helen Robinson, when you feel the rapport, that mutual trust you're building with the customer."

Content:

My first experience in sales was in telemarketing. I was so scared that to this day I can't remember what I was selling. The sales trainer told me to read the script and all would be fine. I found a nice secluded corner desk where no one would hear me and dialed my first lead. I introduced myself and started to read the script I was given. I thought I was doing fine until the gentleman asked me a question. "You can't do this to me; my trainer didn't say anything about questions; there are no questions in the script!" Of course I didn't voice this out loud; I just broke out in a sweat, lost my place in the script and felt my throat closing." Since he had no idea who I was, thank heaven, I just hung up the phone. Silly wasn't I?

At that moment I decided I needed a new mindset. The person on the other end doesn't know me. The only reason they will speak to me is because I sound warm, friendly and polite and if I ask a question, even a simple one, I will wait for an answer. Have you experienced the caller who asks how you are today and doesn't wait for an answer just starts reading some words on a piece of paper?

Wouldn't it be nice to build up that trust and create a customer for yourself and the company you work for? You don't need a script. You should learn all you can about your company, the product or service you're selling before you pick up that phone. Try to be relaxed and get you're customer in the same mood.

Here's one of my best examples of listening and I think one of my favorite moments on the phone. A business owner called asking for some information to be sent to him. I tried to get some information about his operation to start a conversation but that's all I could get was a yes or no answer. From the name of his business I realized he owned many pretzel concessions that were located in movie theaters, etc. I was listening to his tone and it seemed to me that he wasn't unfriendly, perhaps just shy or had a really bad day. He proceeded to give me his name, address and in the middle of this information, I asked, "Do they come with mustard?" The long silence was deafening. I said, "The pretzels, do they come with mustard?" He started to laugh and I breathed a huge sigh of relief. I knew he would become a customer and he did. I looked forward to calling him for reorders and I really think he liked hearing from me. The moral of the story, believe in what you're selling, know your product and enjoy talking to your prospects. Relax and the orders will come.

Is This The Ultimate People Business?

Description:

If you've ever heard of Network Marketing, you've probably heard it said that it is essentially a people's business.

Content:

If you've ever heard of Network Marketing, you've probably heard it said that it is essentially a people's business. Some have also labelled it a people's franchise because of the similarities between the business models of network marketing and franchising. Advocates of the industry name it as the ultimate people's business and say there is nothing quite like it.

Of course people that are in network marketing will immediately respond positively to this whereas those that are not familiar with the industry, or have had some bad experiences might be strongly opposed to this idea. One of the unique characteristics of this type of business is that every individual distributor is in business for themselves but never by themselves. They will always be part of a larger organization and the compensation models are designed in such a way that every person can count on some form of support from their upline.

It is no secret that fortunes can be made in this type of business and many have done just that. Of course this is not the majority of network marketers, but every individual distributor does have the same chances. Success or failure in network marketing is not dictated by politics, race, age, background or gender, but always by results. In that respect it is probably also the fairest business model in the world.

For many people however the true value of their home based business is not directly in the financial return. The lessons a person can learn while building his or her own network marketing business are truly priceless. Many people are totally transformed through the personal growth they experience as a direct result of their challenges in their MLM businesses. It forced them to get out of their comfort zones, grow, and in many cases become a better person.

So what is so unique about network marketing in this respect? Doesn't every entrepreneur have to deal with challenges? The answer of course is: Yes, they do. And they also experience personal growth as a result from this. However there is a significant difference.

Most entrepreneurs are self made and many of them learned their trade largely outside of formal education. Either they were taught by a family member, a mentor or perhaps they learned everything the hard way: by trial and error. Very rarely will you find an entrepreneur that has an extensive library of books and tapes on personal development.

Most businesspeople don't attend seminars and motivational trainings. They think it's all a bunch of hype. While in some cases this can be true, there are many trainings and seminars that teach the principles of success better than any textbook found in business schools.

One of the great things about network marketing is that this type of education is built into the training systems of all good companies. There is no business on the face of the earth that places such a strong and direct emphasis on the importance of personal development as the network marketing industry.

Many companies might argue that they spend a great deal of their budget on education; training employees and as such assisting them in personal development but in most cases what they are actually talking about is personnel development. Although the words are almost identical, their meanings are vastly different.

Network marketing is all about building people. It is probably the best school on the planet if you want to learn about what it takes to be successful in life and you don't need rich parents or some kind of scholarship to enroll.

Importance of Career Planning---mapping our Future

Description:

This article is beneficienct for all the amateurs students, who are seeking career counseling. Career means profession, which we want to adopt for earning livelihood, and planning means proper flow or to make proper decisions. Pre- planning in our life plays very important role in every aspect of life, to work in a proper flow, and pre-planning for career, which we want to pursue in our future ahead after acquiring certain level of degree is also very necessary in today’s competitive world.

According to the Thorndike dictionary

“A goal that you desire to achieve in a selected field or occupation with a well-thought out plan, to get you there is called Career Planning.”

The world is now moving very fast, and the time has come when this meritocratic society accepts only those, having right qualification and right skills.
Olden days are gone, when just a degree would help an individual to get high profile job by giving bribe or using some other mean. Now it’s high time, when the transparency in job recruitment has taken place.

Challenges and competition are the part of today’s society, and therefore, Career Planning is the only task, which can guide us to do what we want to do in our life, rather than just aimlessly changing job all the time in future.

We have seen many Pakistani, who after completing Intermediate don’t know where to go, what to do and we have also seen graduates, who aimlessly do graduation without any specialization. As a result, they earns just in 6-8 figures.

Career Planning is one of the broader aspects of learning in our existence. We all have some intentions and we all think to have stability in our future lives, and for that purpose, CAREER PLANNING serves as a key to success.

Career Planning makes a person to think suitably about their positive and negative aspects. All about their interest, about their creativity becomes possible through proper analyzing ourselves.

Career Planning basically starts, when a person finishes Secondary/ Higher Secondary level of education. After that level, a person could opt for that educational degree, which would help them out to have a good job opportunity according to their skills at the right time.

Career Planning helps us to design and formulate our future smoothly. Like, If a person wants to be a banker, then he or she would choose to go for ACCA or CA or MBA in finance after completing Intermediate in commerce and Graduation in commerce/ business administration.. Else he/ she would go for CAT course or Masters in Commerce or even upto doctorate level.

This pre-planning would be effective and would give him/her benefits after achieving educational targets effectively.
It also helps us to evaluate our own personality, which helps us to know that which kind of job would suit us according to our need and capabilities.

In short, Career Planning is like mapping our future.

Without proper planning, no one could think of getting a desired job in future.

Think what we want to do and finding out more about the kind of training, education, and skills we will need to achieve our career goal is the core objective of career planning.
It help us knowing the nature of the jobs that interest us, such as educational requirements, salary, working conditions, fringe benefits, promotion chances, future prospectus, and help us focusing in the right dimension.

Career planning directs us, motivates us, and helps us to accomplish what we want. A career goal is a specific vision such as an architect or a teacher or a career goal can be a particular field, which we want to work in, such as Media, Education, Medicine, Engineering etc.

For those who will think about their future and career after completing education without any long term desired goals are the one, whose all attempt might end in smoke.
There are some cases and situation, which bound a person to pre-plan in advance, such like family high family business status, lack of interest in studies or traditional job, low motivation, low financial status etc or some past educational traumas, which had made a person to plan after wards.

Career planning is a life time process we are always learning and growing, and as we do, our interests and needs also change. Career planning is not just making plans to obtain our career, but it also help us to make many adjustments there will be along the ways we learn throughout our lives.

Those who have successful careers like educators, business man, manager, pilot, architect, banker, doctor etc are the one, who has made their ways through proper guidance.

No doubt, that our parents have some wishes and expectations from us, but we have our own too. Therefore, we should also consider others opinion. For that we could take guidance from an educational counselor to get better guidance towards new dimensional fields as well. Teacher, professionals, career guidance websites, Head educational consultants can also guide us, to have a better approach for our future.

We must have freedom of speaking and freedom of choosing our career as we have to lead our lives which interest us. We must try to have an open mind in order to choose the right career on right time.

According to one renowned professor,

“Few of us like to opt for those degree courses, which their family or friend has advised them to adopt and this inappropriate knowledge trapped them into a great mistake and
In this way, they are unable to get good job opportunities according to their interests. Only Proper Career Guidance would help an individual to be on the right path before hand. Few of us try to seek the right path and take guidance from family or teacher to tell them what is good for them, which career is in demand and which career suits their interest.”

The future is un-predictable, however, we could still make our place in this meritocratic world by making career goals and plans in advance, for getting better opportunities in todays pluralistic and globalize world.
We must pre-plan our goals under the supervision of professionals in conscious state of mind, so that we could strategically maintain our goals and follow it towards the path of successful future.

Unemployment: Creating A Sense Of Security

Description:

Your only job security lies in self-security. Knowledge and appreciation of your value as a worker: your skills, your competence, your personal qualities, can build the sense of security you crave.

Content:

In a time of economic downturn, international turmoil, company restructuring and corporate mergers run amok, thousands of people are either out of work or fearful of losing their jobs.

Is there, then, such a thing as job security?

No job, in itself, is totally secure. Governments cut back, unions have periods when they have no work available for their members, directors and CEOs are forced out, self-employment ventures fail. Even the most coveted and powerful position in the world, the Presidency of the United States, only lasts 4 or 8 years.

Your only job security lies in self-security. Knowledge and appreciation of your value as a worker: your skills, your competence, your personal qualities, can build the sense of security you crave. A true understanding of the process of finding work, the resources available, and the personal networking which captures the hidden job market, leads to a sense of self-empowerment. The job you are performing may not last until retirement but the prospect of losing it can be transformed from a negative, anxiety-laden situation into a self-affirming, positive opportunity for growth, movement, and the chance to turn your life in new directions.

Here are 10 Tips to help you build a sense of security:

1. Write down all of your skills, experience, knowledge, and personal qualities.

2. Re-read your list daily and before each and every interview until the information is ingrained and at your fingertips.

3. Expand your network by contacting everyone you know, not to ask for a job but to identify other people to contact who might know of a position.

4. Maintain your sense of self. Follow the familiar routines you devised while working so you continue to feel like you.

5. Identify multiple resources: newspaper ads, job lines, internet sites, agencies, networking. Knowing that multiple options are available can counteract negativity about the future and feelings of panic.

6. Treasure your support systems. The frustration you feel is often misdirected towards those closest to you. Appreciate your family and friends and banish the self-pity that often comes with stress.

7. Treasure yourself. Don't berate yourself for the mistakes you make. Concentrate on remembering things you have done well, that show your individual value.

8. Pace yourself. Allow for periods of not thinking about work. Do something active that you enjoy even if only for an hour or two at a time.

9. Maintain your objectivity. Not being offered a job does not reflect on your personal competence. It simply indicates a mismatch as if you had tried unsuccessfully to sell a shack to a couple secretly seeking a mansion.

10. Manage your job search as if it were a sales campaign. Even the world's best sales person will not make every sale but knows that each new contact increases the chance of success.

Practice these tips to build a sense of security, even if initially fragile, and your mental outlook will bloom, allowing you to remain calm in the face of the panic of those around you who walk in constant fear of layoff.

How Foreign Trade Zone (ftz) Can Help Businesses Save

Description:

Today, North America businesses are utilizing Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) to better manage their global supply chain costs. Increasingly, many companies are looking at FTZ as a competitive alternative to a domestic distribution center.

Content:

Make Your Business More Competitive
Today, North America businesses are utilizing Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) to better manage their global supply chain costs. Increasingly, many companies are looking at FTZ as a competitive alternative to a domestic distribution center. In addition to the advantages of duty-deferral and duty avoidance on their imports, companies can perform kitting and distribution operations within the FTZ without paying duty on the labor. Location to key markets in North America within a day's drive is a prime consideration to the section of your FTZ.

Many companies have selected Speed Global Services-- headquartered in Buffalo, NY--for these reasons, in addition to our overall professional guidance around FTZ.

The key benefits of a FTZ are:

Duty Deferral
You'll realize improved cash flow as Customs duties are only paid when imported merchandise is entered into the U.S. Customs territory. Goods may be held indefinitely in a FTZ without Customers duty payment.

Duty Avoidance
There are no duties paid on merchandise exported from a FTZ, transferred to another zone or destroyed. This eliminates the need to manage costly and time consuming Duty Drawback programs.

Duty Inversion
The user may elect to pay the duty rate applicable to either the component materials ore the finished goods produced from raw materials, depending on which is lower.

Inventory Tax Incentives
Companies that hold goods in a FTZ are allowed exemption from inventory taxes. Also, certain tangible personal property is generally exempt from state and local ad valorem taxes.

Strategic Location
Buffalo, New York is strategically located to major markets in the U.S. and Canada. Your product will reach most cities within a 500-mile radius overnight at minimal freight costs.

Non-Dutiable Labor, Overhead and Profit
There are no duties applicable on labor, overhead or profit to operations performed within a FTZ.

Weekly Entry
Customs allows for a weekly entry processing, which benefits importers because they pay Merchandise Processing Fees capped at $485 on a weekly basis, versus a per shipment basis.

Enhanced Security
By using an FTZ, the "internal controls" requirements of section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act are met and participants in the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program are eligible for additional benefits provided by Customs.

FTZ Facts
Modern computerized (online) inventory control systems
Clean, dry temperature-controlled environment
Food-grade warehouse space
HAZMAT-certified
Online track and trace
Open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
Fully secured with video surveillance
By taking advantage of the benefits and cost efficiencies of a FTZ to improve their global supply chain, you can significantly improve your market competitiveness and business growth. Click here to download a .pdf of FTZ information.

Types of Business Coaching

Description:

Every successful individual accomplishes his goals with the support and guidance of his coach or mentor.

Content:

Every successful individual accomplishes his goals with the support and guidance of his coach or mentor. The coaches' ability to motivate, communicate and establish a relationship with the students is a remarkable trait that brings out the individuals core values. Business coaching is a new phenomenon that has developed into a movement in the corporate world, which facilitates behavioral and psychological changes in the executives to better their managerial styles. The basic aim of business coaching is to make corporate personnel aware of their impact on others, learn how to motivate subordinates and to create a positive rapport. There are various categories that coaching can be divided into, some of which are mentioned below.

Coaching for Skills

Instructions for skill development are devised to make the executives learn specific abilities and give them various perspectives regarding management and relationship coordination. New responsibilities require innovative tactics to handle numerous situations, which the personnel have not encountered before. Refining the existing proficiency of the employees is the basis of business coaching for skills. The coaching session is usually spread over a period of several weeks or months.

Coaching for Development

This type of coaching caters to the characteristics and competencies of the individual and helps to enhance them. It explores the persons' existing facets and modifies them according to the requirement of the new profile and the bigger challenges that it brings. This includes refining their listening skills, cultivating strategic planning, improving time-management, being receptive to suggestions and changes and encouraging participation among subordinates. It focuses on the overall development of the individuals by not only training them to handle newer profiles via broadening technical know how, but also helping them integrate their interpersonal competence. This purpose is served well when the association is restructured or reengineered.

Coaching for Performance

Performance is evaluated based on personal capacity as well as the group feedback, which is received from the team. It does not suffice if you are conversant with the required technical or academic skills but lack any positive rapport with your team, and treat your staff like working apparatus. How personnel handle their teams, reflects directly on their performance and creditability. Performance is not rated on work completion rate, but on the team spirit and collective effort that the supervisor was able to extract out of his team. The coaching for performance develops the employees' effectiveness in their existing position and facilitates their growth in the organization.

Executive Coaching

Usually when employees climb up the corporate ladder to an executive level, they are sometimes perceived to be arrogant by their earlier team members. This necessitates the executives to be strong to handle the criticism and to win over the confidence and support of those around. It is imperative to build a positive rapport and assure the staff of their loyalty. The executives require coaching to help them plan their strategy in winning over their new subordinate staff. It requires executives to be mentally and emotionally capable to handle the new responsibilities. The coaching addresses the executives' personal issues such as confidence in handling negative feedback initially, mental blockage regarding any particular aspect of the work and much more. Communication and leadership skills and are the highlights of the program.

Transformational Coaching

Transformational coaching is more personal or intimate in its approach. It specifically analyzes those aspects of the trainees' behavior which hinder their effective performance. It evaluates the personnel's current abilities and behaviors and reworks a methodological strategy to improve them Everyday interactions have to be observed and an analysis is to be made for the coach to give any advice. The coach identifies the limiting behavioral patterns and a plan to overcome them steadily and effectively is developed for the individual. Transformational learning is successful only when the trust between the client and coach is established.

An Introduction to Making Money Online With Network Marketing

Description:

So you want to know how to make money online, huh? That seems to be a BIG idea these days. Everybody wants to be a financially free, independent, Internet millionaire. Problem is that there are many choices to make, so how do you make the right choice?

So you want to know how to make money online, huh? That seems to be a BIG idea these days. Everybody wants to be a financially free, independent, Internet millionaire. Problem is that there are many choices to make, so how do you make the right choice?

First, you need to understand exactly what network marketing is and how it works.

Network marketing is about people, sales and servicing your customers. I cannot stress that last point enough - CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ESSENTIAL.

Network marketing has gotten some bad press recently and has unfortunately been labeled as a scam all over the Internet. Talk to anybody and that is probably what you will hear. The difference is how you market your business. Once you start your business, do what you say you will do and build your integrity. Be honest and take care of your customers and you will build a good reputation.

An offshoot of direct sales companies is affiliate programs. These are good, but the commission is low and you need to sell a LOT of product to make any real money. Advertising is key with affiliate marketing. Sadly, a lot of times the cost of advertising is cost inhibitive. Basically, if you stop working/promoting, your income stops coming in.

Before you jump right into a program, there are a few things I would suggest you do first:

1. Seek outside training and LEARN how to become a success. A network marketing business is just like any other business – you have to work smart and hard to make it a success.

2. Put aside the “employee” mindset and get in the mood as a business owner. You can't just do what you're told – you have to create and see through ideas to make money when you are a business owner.

3. Look for companies with products that you personally get excited or passionate about.

4. Do not be afraid of making mistakes. Learn from them and become stronger/smarter.

Of course, you will need a website to market your network marketing business online. Most MLM companies provide their distributors with websites, but these sites are usually not very good. If you want to succeed, you need your own website.

Since advertising will be a huge part of your promotions, look into all the different types of advertising. Here are a few: banners, text links, pop-ups, fly ins, PPC search, search engine inclusion, safe list advertising, direct mail ads, PTR email ads. There are more, but this will give you a start.

There are also a lot of free methods you can use as well, like email signatures, My Space, blogs, talk to your friends and family.

Above all, shop around. Take your time. Make smart investments. Make informed decisions and don’t let anyone tell you that you need to answer right now. Educate, integrate and motivate yourself to be great! Always work to do and be better things.
