We were all born with five senses, each one helping us to make generalizations about the world. You should engage all five sensations when trying to persuade an audience.

However, keep in mind that there are three dominating senses we gravitate toward. They are sight, hearing and feeling, or, visual, auditory and kinesthetic. When we learn, 75 percent of knowledge comes to us visually, 13 percent comes through hearing and 12 percent comes through smell, taste and touch. Most people tend to favor one of these perceptions over the others. As a Master Persuader, you need to identify and use your prospect's dominant perspective on the world. Granted, we generally make use of all five senses, but the point is to find the dominant perception. As you determine the dominant learning mode, consider the size of your audience. If you were speaking to one person, for example, you would want to pinpoint her/his one dominant perception. If you have an audience of one hundred, on the other hand, you would need to employ all three learning styles.

If you were to ask an auditory person to be an eyewitness to a robbery, he would describe the situation in this manner: "I was walking down First Avenue, listening to the singing birds, when I heard a scream for help. The yelling got louder. There was another scream, and then the thief ran off." A visual person might describe the same situation this way: "I was walking down First Avenue, watching the birds playing in the air, when I noticed a large man coming around the corner. I saw him attack the other man, take his wallet and run from the scene." The kinesthetic person would use this description: "I was walking down First Avenue and I felt a lump in my throat because I had a feeling something bad was going to happen. There was a scream then there was tension, and I knew that a man was getting robbed. I felt helpless to do anything."

The most commonly prevalent of the senses is sight, or visual perception. One study showed that those who used visual presentation tools (slides, overheads, etc.) were 43 percent more persuasive than subjects who didn't. Also, those using a computer to present their visual aids were considered more professional, interesting and effective. Visually oriented people understand the world according to how it looks to them. They notice the details, like an object's shape, color, size and texture. They say things like, "I see what you mean," "From your point of view ...," "How does that look to you?" "I can't picture it," and "Do you see what I mean?" They tend to use words like "see," "show," "view," "look," "watch" and "observe."

Auditory people perceive everything according to sound and rhythm. Phrases you would commonly hear would be, "I hear you," "That sounds good to me," "Can you hear what I'm saying?" "It doesn't ring a bell" and "Let's talk about it." They use words such as "hear," "listen," "sounds," "debate," "silence," "harmony," "rings," "say," "speak," "discuss" and "verbalize."

Kinesthetic people go with what they feel, not only in a tactile way, but also internally. They are very into feelings and emotions. A kinesthetic person would say things like, "That feels right to me," "I will be in touch with you," "Do you feel that?" "I understand how you feel" and "I can sense it." They use words such as "feel," "touch," "hold," "connect," "reach," "unite," "grasp," "tension," "sense," "lift" and "understand."

One last word on visual, auditory and kinesthetic sensations: A general way to tell which type describes a particular person is to watch the movement of her/ his eyes when s/he has to think about a question. Ask her/him a question, watch her/his eyes and make sure the question is difficult enough that s/he has to ponder for a moment. Generally, but not 100 percent of the time, if the person looks up when s/he thinks, s/he is visual. When s/he looks to either side, s/he is usually auditory. When s/he looks down, s/he is kinesthetic. I am simplifying a complicated science, but if you try it, you will be amazed at the accuracy of this technique.

Logistics Placement Leader Experiences Dramatic Growth Due to New U.s. Plants

Description:

Logistics Placement Leader Experiences Dramatic Growth Due to New U.S. Plants. These new plants are a result of a Grassroots Industrial Plant Construction.

Content:

Unlike other staffing organizations, 100% of ProLogistix recruiting efforts are centered around logistics. Branch staff is trained in logistics, and they understand the intricacies of the industry. Staff is not spending time testing and interviewing bookkeepers, data entry clerks, and construction workers. ProLogistix is fortunate to have built a reputation in the communities served as the "go-to" company when seeking a job in a warehouse or distribution center.

Since a similar study was conducted in October 2006, the total investment value (TIV) of grassroot industrial plants currently under construction in the U.S. has increased by approximately 33 percent, from $60 billion to $88 billion. Correspondingly, the number of plants under construction has increased from 601 to 656 during this time period. The Grassroot U.S. Industrial Plant Construction Surpasses $60 Billion as detailed in the complete report.

When completed, these plants will add more than 111,000 new hourly and salaried manufacturing jobs. The Mid-Atlantic Region, which includes the states of West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and the District of Columbia, will add the most new manufacturing jobs, with 28,995 from 70 new industrial plants. The Great Lakes Region has almost twice as many new plants under construction as the Mid-Atlantic Region with 138, but these plants will result in fewer employees - 23,902.

According to Brian Devine, division vice-president of ProLogistix (www.prologistix.com) “The increase of the plant production has had a terrific impact on the growth of ProLogistix over the past few years. We are seeing increased competition for the skilled workers, and companies are finding they have to stay competitive to attract and retain productive workers. Pay rates are often the first element that hourly employees look at when considering a new job, but other factors play an important role in the “retention” of employees. These include: the work environment, the shift, the way employees are treated by their supervisors and benefits.”

ResourceMFG, the sister division to ProLogistix places manufacturing specific positions. Devine explained the differentiation between the two organization by noting, “The way we differentiate between which clients are best served by ResourceMFG or ProLogistix is to ask what the company does. If they manufacture products, then they are best suited to ResourceMFG; if they distribute products, then ProLogistix is the right staff solution.”

The types of positions ProLogistix fills include:
• Loaders and Unloaders
• Order Selectors
• Warehouse Associates
• Shipping and Receiving
• Forklift Operators
• Quality Assurance
• Supervisors
• Warehouse Managers
• Operations Manager

Changing Your Mans Underwear And Getting Away With It

Description:

Men hate buying their own underwear. Single men tend to whiz into big departmental stores, grabbing the 3-pack underwear that are dyed in the dullest colors, hoping that the lady at the checkout counter is not young and pretty.

Content:

Men hate buying their own underwear. Single men tend to whiz into big departmental stores, grabbing the 3-pack underwear that are dyed in the dullest colors, hoping that the lady at the checkout counter is not young and pretty. When they have got a girlfriend or wife, the task is almost immediately delegated quickly to her. After all, she is the only one who sees.

But what happens underneath those clothes is very important to the women, which is why www.VeryYummy.com have put together some tips for women on how to choose the best underwear. The tips involve three simple steps which involves, firstly, working out what kind if guy you have, choosing the type of underwear and lastly, getting sufficient quantities the new style into the man's drawer before explaining yourself.

First Step - What kind of man you are dealing with.
The first step involves working out what kind of man you have. Try using the following guide:

Ubermale - This guy is so concerned with his looks that he will take care of his own underwear and you can be sure that you can trust that it will look good on him. It is best to make sure that he does not end up out-dressing you in the underwear department. The best thing for this guy is to hand him a mens g-string so he can admire his own buttocks in a mirror.

Metrosexual man - He owns at least some form of facial cream and does enjoy shopping. It would be normal to see this guy wearing something from Zara or American Apparel. Trunks are the thing for this kind of man. He will be well aware that Calvin Klein have great looking trunks.

Family man - Spends most of his time with babies climbing all over him. Therefore something comfortable and easy are important like briefs. By the time he crawls into bed after putting the baby to sleep you won't notice what he has on anyway.

Lad - This guy is busy down the local bar watching football, humming to songs as he showers in the football changing room. Best advice is too get him something that will not embarrass his mates at the club. Good old fashioned boxers are perfect for him and you can even choose to vary the material by buying something silkier.

Seond step - Ordering
A man will normally wear one pair of underwear for as long as possible without changing. It is pretty disgusting, therefore women should make sure he changes it and has at least 14 days worth of underwear supply. This way you can make sure he will get around to his washing every two weeks. However, if you want to make sure he washes his underwear more often, the solution is obvious, buy less underwear. A friend once bought a single three pack only.

Step three - Making the switch
Now, tips on how to get rid of the old designs. The fastest way to is to use the direct approach. Dump the underwear in the trash on a garbage day. You really don't want him rummaging in the trash can looking for them while cursing at you. Make sure his new underwear is placed exactly where the old ones would have been. If the colors match, the change in underwear type might even go unnoticed for a few days if you're lucky.

Step four - Explaining yourself
When your man asks where his favorite underwear disappeared to, you can choose your how you want to explain the truth. It is easy to say the washing machine chewed it up or go straight for the cliché, "I prefer you without them" and them head for the hot rumble that follows, helping him get over the fact his favorite y-fronts have gone.

How You Can Find Legitimate Businesses To Earn Money From Home

Description:

The decision to stay at home can be a tough one and it will take time to determine the best and consistent means to earn money from home before you completely commit to the idea....

Content:

You have probably spent a lot of time thinking of ways you can earn money from home while the baby is growing up, or the spouse is recovering or you recently lost your job. The decision to stay at home can be a tough one and it will take time to determine the best and consistent means to earn money from home before you completely commit to the idea.

It many areas of the country it is a tight job market and with specific, in-demand skills a lot of workers are finding themselves with few prospects. This often sparks the decision to try to earn money from home and, unfortunately, also can lead to making desperate decisions that may not allow you to make the most of your situation. Many companies prey on desperate job hunters and take their money when they do not have the cash to give up.

Searching for the right opportunity takes time and effort and a willingness not to let that voice of reason get lost in the chatter of lofty promises. Deciding to start your own business at home is a decision that not only affects you, it affects your family as well as your bill collectors. If you do not make money, they will not care that you had to pay extra for additional training and may not be long before you do not have electric to keep the computer up and running.

Look objectively at your skills and before you send money to join a million dollars a month opportunity that requires no education or specialized training, ask yourself what you will be doing to earn that kind of cash and who is willing to pay it. The two answers are usually nothing and no one and that should tell you where your cash is going. One of the most lucrative means of making money online is scamming others into sending you cash and when the voice of reason is silenced, the scammer's voice is often heard loud and clear.

Assembling products at home can be a good way to make money as long as you are associated with a legitimate company. Those making the offer requiring you buy specialized tools and parts in order to assemble the product are only selling the tools and the parts. There is a 100 percent chance that no matter how well your products are assembled the company will reject them for quality reasons, typically not being up to their standards.

There are, however many companies who will pay a third party to perform assembly work for them offsite, and depending on the product they may even want to inspect your facilities to insure they are not wasting their time with someone who can produce a few a week when they may need thousands.

Niche Marketing - Why Keyword Data Comes First

Description:

If you do not know what related keywords and keyword phrases potential visitors are actively searching on and if you do not know how often they are searching for these terms, you will never know exactly what it is they want, how badly they want it or how

Content:

A good portion of my business involves spending hours and hours using incredibly powerful but difficult to master software to uncover thousands of the exact, targeted keyword phrases people in any given niche market are typing into the search engines.

When people new to the internet discover what I do and see the huge lists of keyword phrases and search data I uncover and compile, they often ask me what the heck it is used for.

My clients and customers on the other hand, tend not to ask questions at all. They just pay me, take their lists and happily disappear into the shadows. Do they know something you do not?

It really all boils down to this - you do not have a good chance of creating and launching a successful niche website if you are lacking the keyword data about your niche market.

If you do not know what related keywords and keyword phrases potential visitors are actively searching on and if you do not know how often they are searching for these terms, you will never know exactly what it is they want, how badly they want it or how you can get that information in front of them.

Good keyword data lists for any given niche market are hard to research and expensive to come by, but are invaluable to those who put them to use. Good niche keyword lists serve many functions including:

They allow you to see the actual thoughts and desires going through the minds of those in your target market as they search online. At the very least, these list will give you hundreds of ideas for different websites, info-products, ebooks and more that you can create and profit from, knowing ahead of time that there is a demand.

They are used to launch pay-per-click campaigns to drive targeted traffic to your site. Savvy web marketers know that bidding on large numbers of targeted keywords with low bids has distinct advantages over bidding on just a few expensive top-trafficked phrases.

They are used for creating content for niche websites. For example, the keyword phrases are useful for generating article titles and topics you already know are in demand.

And of course, they can help with SEO. For those with a little more experience in search engine optimization, knowing exactly what phrases people are searching for in any niche gives them an incredible edge and much higher chance of achieving high search engine listings that lead to traffic.

If you are just throwing up websites without incorporating professional niche keyword research into your site planning, content development and search engine optimization, you are truly taking a shot in the dark.

And if you are not able to afford the expensive software and time it takes to learn how to use it to do the research yourself, there are always others who offer their research for your use.

The History of Citizen Watches

Description:

The Citizen Watch Company now employs more than three thousand people the world over. The Citizen Watch Company was the sole responsible party for the first shock resistant watch to ever be made. Citizen Watch Company was a pioneer in the quartz watch revolution. Now its Eco-Drive movement is again revolutionizing the watch industry.

Content:

There are a lot of different companies that make watches and timepieces today but there are few that have been around as long as the Citizen Watch Company. Moreover, there are only a handful of companies that have stuck to their guns when it comes to the quality of the products that they were founded upon. Citizen Watch Company is the exception to the rule when it comes to this area of business and they have yet to fall to the almighty dollar and cut the quality. This is why they are now the largest maker of watches and timepieces in the world with a presence in every major country. The uncompromising quality and style of the Citizen Watch has made this so.

THE EARLY DAYS

The first Citizen Watch was created in 1924 using a new form of technology to make it the smallest and thinnest of the time. It is very hard to recognize this timepiece against the watches that are made today but anyone with a little knowledge can easily identify the craftsmanship of the piece and know that it is a Citizen Watch. This was the springboard for the piece and it went all uphill from there.

The actual Citizen Watch Company was formed six years later in 1930 and was an immediate success. This was due in part to the founders need to bring better and brighter things to the market as soon as possible. Unlike a lot of companies that will hold off on new technology so they do not hurt their current market, the Citizen Watch Company rolled out the many products that it developed from the beginning and made a big splash in the world. This has also made them one of the most hated among the other watch makers in the world but that is nothing to this company as they rolled along.

The Citizen Watch Company now employs more than three thousand people the world over. Based in Japan, they are the first company to make some of the finest innovations in the world and still maintain a market presence in the standard watches that they produced as well. This is something that the other companies were having a lot of trouble with and making a lot of enemies along the way was a daily occurrence for this company.

THE NEW DAY

The Citizen Watch Company was the sole responsible party for the first shock resistant watch to ever be made. This was a big deal for the many hard working people in the world who were tired of having to take their watch in for repair because of shock problems.

Citizen also made its mark on the diving world with the first professional dive watch that features an electronic depth sensor. This improvement on the old design of diving watch has ever endeared the company to the many diving enthusiasts around the world.

They were also responsible for the first Analog Quartz watch to be produced which single handedly changed the way the world told time. Today the Citizen Watch Company has taken the watch making world to a whole new level with Eco Drive System. Tapping into the resource of being environmentally friendly, the Eco Drive System uses a hidden solar cell that is embedded into the works. This cell gathers power from the sun and artificial light sources and turns it into energy to drive the watch. By far this is the most popular watch to be found today and it has more benefits to the environment. No longer do you need to go to the store to purchase a new battery and worry about the old one polluting the ground in a land fill somewhere.

All in all the Citizen Watch Company has been responsible for some of the best things to happen in watches and timepieces for the past many years. Today they are still one of the most popular watch brands in the world and make up a large share of the market with the newest products that can be found almost anywhere.

How to Sell More Jewelry with Volume Discounts

Description:

Offering some items at volume discount pricing can net you many extra sales and repeat buyers. Here's how to sell more jewelry - and come home from the show with a fuller cash box - by harnessing the power of volume discount pricing.

Content:

Customers love to feel like they're getting a good deal, so offering some items at "volume discount pricing" can net you a lot of extra sales and repeat buyers.

For example, I have a big selection of very simple gemstone bead earrings with sterling silver earwires. I price them at $16 for 1 pair, $14 each for 3 pair, and $12 each for 5 pair. You'd be amazed at how many people automatically spend $60 buying 5 pair just because that's the best price per pair.

If a customer comes to check out with just 2 pair, I mention that they'll receive a discount if they get 3 pair – and nearly always they go back to pick out a third pair of earrings, spending $42 instead of $32.

I know that without the volume discount, most people would buy just one pair and spend only $16.

Why not try volume discount pricing on a selected group of your jewelry pieces? I think this tactic is most successful with a group of similar items that are regularly priced under $20.

You can increase people's urgency to take you up on your special pricing with a sign mentioning that they can take care of all their holiday shopping today with this special jewelry bargain. Include a free gift pouch or box for each piece, and you'll probably make all the sales you can keep up with.

Some quick tips on successful volume discount pricing: – Be sure to calculate your volume discounts so that you're still earning a good profit per piece at your lowest pricing. (Even at the lowest price, $12 per pair, I make a very tidy profit on the volume-priced earrings). – Post obvious signs next to the items listing your pricing discounts. – If anyone comes to check out with just one, ask if they saw today's special savings on this group of items. – This kind of deal is most effective for you if it's for something you can turn out quickly and in volume, with slight differences from one piece to another (such as changing bead color or shape). – A "rummage bin" increases the sale of volume-discount items. Put the items in mini-ziplocks in a pretty basket, tray, trunk, or box and observe the power of rummaging!

You can experiment with volume discounts till you find the right jewelry items and pricing that make this a guaranteed, profitable bread-and-butter item for you.

Study Shows Consolidation in the Insurance Outsourcing Vendor Landscape Set to Accelerate

Description:

A new study by ValueNotes Database, a Pune , India based outsourcing research company shows that consolidation in the insurance BPO services provider landscape is expected in more than one direction.

Content:

Consolidation in the insurance BPO services provider landscape is expected in more than one direction. The larger BPO vendors are aggressively buying out smaller, niche providers to gain scale, clients and expertise in the insurance domain. Larger providers are also entering innovative arrangements with insurance carriers to buy out and manage their back-office transaction processing units.

Further, a new stream of consolidation is likely to be a growing reality, although it may appear far-fetched right now. Third party administrators or TPAs who will be increasingly threatened by competitive pressures may buy out smaller BPO vendors, especially offshore ones, to build a presence at a low-cost base like India. On the other hand, some of the large third party providers are likely to buy out TPAs, for on-shore presence, client access and domain knowledge.

A report by Pune-based ValueNotes suggests that insurance offshoring (BPO) to India is likely to grow at 30 percent CAGR over the next three years. India's revenues are estimated to grow from $690 million currently, to around $2 billion by 2010. Driven by the need to reduce costs, differentiate products in an increasingly competitive environment, and ensure regulatory compliance, offshoring will be a growing imperative for the global insurance industry.

According to the report “Insurance Outsourcing: India Gains Momentum As Offshoring Intensifies – Trends, Insights and Key Vendor Profiles”, the large established offshore BPO vendors in India are expected to gain the most, as they will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage scale, and offer services across the value chain to global customers. “By FY2010”, says Arun Jethmalani, CEO of ValueNotes, “a large number of Indian vendors will have evolved into mature, end-to-end service providers, competing with multinational outsourcing companies”. Players like Genpact, WNS and EXL Services, as well as BPO offshoots of IT companies like IBM, TCS, Infosys (Progeon) and Wipro will emerge as formidable global players in the next few years.

Arpita Bedekar, analyst at ValueNotes, expects “greater offshoring of high-end, higher-value services like analytics, actuaries and underwriting to push average billing rates in offshore insurance BPO upwards by more than 25 percent in the next two to three years”.

How to Make Corporate Gift Baskets Cheaply for Your Gift Basket Business, New Business or Add-On

Description:

Corporate gift baskets can give a big boost to any gift basket business. They are often ordered in large quantities by companies, corporations and businesses, large and small, to give as gifts, to employees, clients and colleagues as a way to say thank you.

Content:

Corporate gift baskets can give a big boost to any gift basket business. They are often ordered in large quantities by companies, corporations and businesses, large and small, to give as gifts, to employees, clients and colleagues as a way to say thank you.

And just a few tips, ideas and help here will give you the information you need to help make corporate gift baskets affordable for you and your corporate clients.

By making unique, good quality demos cheaply, and buying products and supplies at wholesale prices, without buying up a lot of inventory, you can save a lot of money in the process. And if you can work from home you'll save more money on overhead.

Although usually filled with more expensive, gourmet items, corporate gift baskets can be a good money maker for your gift basket business, a sideline or a new business. If you already have a gift-related, craft-related or home based business of any kind, or if you just want to start up a gift basket business, making corporate gift baskets is a good idea.

You can easily add corporate (or sometimes called business) gift baskets to your existing line of gift baskets. You may have some of the baskets, items or products right now. You'll need to know: what are the most popular types of corporate gift baskets, what products or items usually go in them and what the competition is doing in terms of items, products and pricing.

Three of the most popular types of corporate gift baskets are gourmet - fancy foods, fancy fruits with cheese collections, and fancy coffees with chocolate collections.

Products or items you might usually find in corporate or business gift baskets are: seasonal mixed fresh fruits, freshly baked cookies, fancy crackers, deluxe wrapped chocolates and candies, truffles, biscotti, muffins, scones, sausage, pistachios and other nuts, gourmet cheese, cheddar cheese, gourmet jams and preserves, gourmet hot chocolate mix packets, fancy flavored coffees, chocolate covered raspberries or blueberries, and other gourmet goodies. You may have some or many of these items or products already.

It's not advisable to include any controversial items like alcoholic beverages. Although beer, champagne and wine gift baskets are popular, I wouldn't include any beer, wine or champagne in your demo gift baskets. You can make these available, if you choose, if they customize an order, but be aware you may need a license to sell beer, wines or other liquors.

Besides possible health issues - by giving alcohol gifts unknowingly to recovering addicts or closet addicts, you and the business or corporation may have legal or liability issues from the consequences of providing the alcohol to the employees, colleagues or clients.

Containers can be traditional, finely crafted wicker baskets or fancy, small to large hampers. In any case they need to be of excellent or high quality.

Next you'll want to check out the competition. Check out several websites carrying corporate gift baskets to get an idea what they're offering, what items or products they include in their gift baskets and the price range.

The online gift basket websites carrying corporate gift baskets are competitive. So concentrate first on selling your business or corporate gift baskets locally to large companies and corporations. You may have no competition. You can always put up a website after you get your business going.

You'll need at least two gift basket demos in more than one price range. Three or four demo baskets would be better. They may be giving a gift basket in one price range to clients and to colleagues or employees in another price range. Be prepared also to offer custom gift baskets. They can choose the gourmet items they want to go into the baskets, hampers or other containers. They may also want to choose the containers.

After your demo gift baskets are assembled, call around to the larger companies and find out who is in charge of purchasing or public relations. It may take two or three calls to find out whom to talk to, to set up an appointment. Just ask who you can make a short presentation to.

Make sure your prices are competitive and offer quantity discounts. Offer free shipping if they need to be shipped out of town or if they have regional offices they need them shipped to. Make sure to adjust your pricing in advance if you're going to offer free shipping. Know what it'll cost to package and ship your gift baskets and whether you're going to use the postal service or another shipping service like UPS, Fed Ex or Airborne Express.

Good times to make your phone calls are at least two months in advance of a major holiday, at the year's end or at the beginning of the year. But make your calls every month all through the year. They may give gifts to clients throughout the year. And they may give gifts to employees at any time of the year.

If your presentation doesn't result in any orders, ask for feedback. Perhaps it's the type of items or products you're presenting. Perhaps the gift baskets are overpriced.

Starting up a business to specialize in corporate gift baskets is easy to do. If you can, work from home - make it a home-based business. Make sure not to order in a lot of inventory. To keep your costs down, only buy enough products in the beginning to put your demo corporate gift baskets together.

After your presentation and resulting orders, you'll know what items, products and supplies to order for the gift baskets. This is a good way to start on a shoestring budget.

Adding business or corporate gift baskets to your current line of gift baskets can help boost your bottom line. A few of the tips here should get you going in the right direction. If making gift baskets is new to you, you'll find plenty of ideas to make a few demo corporate gift baskets and give it a try. This is an inexpensive or cheap way to add to your gift basket business, start up a gift basket business, or add on to another home based or work at home business.

7 Common Résumé Clichés to Avoid

Description:

There are résumé traditions that seem to make sense but that ought to be questioned in today’s tough job search world. One of those traditions is that certain words and phrases are considered basic necessities. They aren’t. There are many such clichés, but here is my list of 7 of the most common.

Writing a résumé isn’t easy. To your reader this one piece of paper is you, and he or she is going to give it about 20 seconds of attention (often less). Unfortunately, there are résumé traditions that seem to make sense but that ought to be questioned in today’s tough job search world. One of those traditions is that certain words and phrases are considered basic necessities. They aren’t. There are many such clichés, but here is my list of 7 of the most common:

1. Responsible for – Everyone is responsible for something on a job. And just because you are responsible for something doesn’t mean that you are a responsible person. Simply erasing “responsible for” or “responsibilities” from your description usually strengthens it.

2. Assisted – Descriptions starting with the word “assisted” are weak and non-specific. If all you do is render assistance, it places you in a lesser role. If you assisted the President of the company or the Manager of Marketing, what, specifically, did you actually do? What was your part of that job? That’s what to write.

3. Served as (or Acted as) – This usually starts the description of a particular role or job function, such as “Served as liaison to the Planning Committee.” Eliminate “served as” and see how much stronger the writing is: “Liaison to the Planning Committee.”

4. Successfully – It does NOT strengthen your description to say that you “successfully” accomplished something. Either you did it or you didn’t do it. And if you were successful in one area, does it mean that you were unsuccessful in other areas you describe where you do not use that word?

5. Developed – This word is non-specific and overused. What does “developed” really mean? Find a different word that is more specific to what you did.

6. Summary – Every résumé IS a summary (That’s what the word means). If you have a “summary” section, then you’ve got a summary of a summary (which you probably also summarize in a cover letter). There are other options for this section (such as Objective, Strengths, Profile, or Skills).

7. Promoted – Watch out for the word “promoted.” Often it is unclear what is meant without reading the context (which your reader does not have time for). Do you mean that you were promoted (or that you advanced) in your job title and responsibilities, or do you mean that you marketed and promoted the company’s products? Find a different word. And in general, eliminate words that could have a double meaning.

Writing a résumé requires careful and precise thinking, writing, and editing. Every word counts. Do not take any word or phrase for granted.

Does Chocolate Have Health Benefits?

Description:

Chocolate – real chocolate that is – is now recognised as having many qualities that can be beneficial for your health. By 'real chocolate' I mean chocolate containing Cocoa, Sugar, Milk Solids, Vanilla, Lethicin and nothing else.

Content:

Chocolate – real chocolate that is – is now recognised as having many qualities that can be beneficial for your health. By 'real chocolate' I mean chocolate containing Cocoa, Sugar, Milk Solids, Vanilla, Lethicin and nothing else.

THE UPSIDE OF CHOCOLATE!

Chocolate contains high levels of beneficial chemicals and antidioxants such as Seratonin, Phenylethylaminea, Pentamer and flavonoids. It is also high in essential trace elements, minerals and vitamins such as iron, calcium, potassium, vitamins A. B1, C, D, and E as well as many nutrients. Cocoa powder is also the highest known natural source of Magnesium.

Because it contains Seratonin and Phenylethylamine, chocolate can be good for mental health. These substances are 'mood lifting' agents which are released naturally into our system by the human brain when we are feeling happy or in love. Eating chocolate also releases Seratonin and Phenylethylamine into the system, thus (as all chocoholics know), when we are feeling down or depressed chocolate can provide a 'lift', instantly improving our mental state.

Studies indicate that a chemical found in chocolate called Pentamer help can protect against cancer.

Chocolate is very high in anidioxants in the form of flavanoids Also found in lesser amounts in tea, fruit and red wine, studies indicate they protect the heart and arteries from damage by free radicals.

Magnesium deficiency is linked with hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, joint problems and pre-menstrual problems, otherwise known as PMT or PMS. This condition is caused by a pre-menstrual drop in progesterone levels and it's this which precipitates the violent mood swings familiar to so many women (and their families). Adding magnesium to the diet has been proved to increase pre-menstrual progesterone levels, helping to reduce or even eliminate the problem.

There are benefits for men too, as well as the high Magnesium and flavanoids content which are beneficial for the heart, arteries and hypertension, studies indicate that the cocoa butter in high quality chocolate, although technically a 'saturated fat', does not fur up the arteries or contribute to high cholesterol levels.

Chocolate is an unsurpassed nutritional source, providing high levels of vitamins, minerals and nutrients, a single chocolate chip can provide enough energy for the average man to walk about 170' or 50m. Napoleon carried chocolate with him on his campaigns and today most armies provide chocolate in daily ration packs for soldiers in the field. For over 100 years the British, army have issued soldiers with emergency or 'Iron Rations' of chocolate, containing very high levels of cocoa (80%+), for use in emergencies. Each 'iron ration' of 8oz's – 227g of chocolate can not only provide enough nutrition to keep a soldier going for 7 days or more, it also helps keep up moral in difficult circumstances.

STOP PRESS Nov, 06: Results of a study by Johns Hopkins University indicate that chocolate acts in a similar way to Aspirin in effectively preventing blood clots in the arteries, reducing the likelihood of heart attacks.

THE DOWN SIDE OF CHOCOLATE!

They say "there's no such thing as a free lunch" and chocolate, like all good things in life, has it's problems too. It contains sugar and fat in the form of chocolate butter and eating too much of either will cause health problems. As a result, chocolate has developed an undeserved reputation for being unhealthy.

But, although recognised as being addictive to many people, particularly to Women, chocolate itself is not really the cause of the major health problems it's been associated with.

These problems are caused by the simple fact that many chocoholics choose to satisfy their chocolate cravings in the unhealthiest way possible, by buying heavily advertised, mass produced, brand name, milk and white chocolates.

These products are generally very low in chocolate solids (ave less than 20%) and very, very high in sugar and saturated fats. The beneficial cocoa butter has usually been replaced with Hydrogenated Vegetable Oils (HVO's), and there's no question that HVO's are catastrophically ruinous for your health. To make matters worse, because of the very low chocolate content, chocoholics have to eat 3 or 4 times more of this type of product to satisfy a craving for chocolate.

Filled chocolates, both the commercial variety and, sadly, many handmade chocolates, are some of the worst culprits, with centre's consisting almost exclusively of flavoured Fondants and pralines – fondant is virtually 100% sugar and many pralines aren't much better.

The upshot is, if you want a guaranteed way to to get very unhealthy in a very short time, this is one of the most effective ways to way do it.

WHAT IS THE HEALTHIEST CHOCOLATE?

To find the healthiest chocolate the first thing you need to do is start reading the labels, real chocolate should only contain the following ingredients:

Dark chocolate should contain: Cocoa, Sugar, Vanilla and Lethicin in that order.

Milk chocolate should contain only Cocoa, Sugar, Milk solids/fats, Vanilla and Lethicin.

White chocolate should contain only Cocoa Butter, Sugar, Milk solids/fats, Vanilla and Lethicin.

Flavoured chocolates may also contain a natural flavouring such as Orange oil, spices etc, it should not contain Vanillin (artificial Vanilla), vegetable fats or anything else.

For our purposes here, the healthiest chocolate is going to be that which contains the maximum cocoa solids and the minimum sugar. This would make 100% pure chocolate the healthiest option, unfortunately this is virtually inedible because of it's bitterness.

In practice all chocolate has to have some sugar added simply to make it palatable. Dark chocolate containing 70% (or more) cocoa content is generally recognised as being the healthiest option, simply because it contains more chocolate and less sugar.

If you must eat milk or white Chocolate, you should moderate your consumption and make sure your milk chocolate contains a minimumn 35% cocoa and your white chocolate contains a minimum 30% cocoa butter, with the balance of both made up of milk solids and sugar in about equal proportions.

If you like filled chocolates, either handmade chocolate or otherwise, choose those chocolates with fillings containing high cocoa content, covered with high quality chocolate coverture. Not mass produced, high sugar content Pralines or Fondants covered with low quality coatings that barely even qualify as chocolate.

Chocolate should contain ABSOLUTELY NO Vegetable oils or artificial additives of any kind.

BUT ALL'S NOT DOOM AND GLOOM!

If you love chocolate and/or filled chocolates, there's good stuff out there if you look, and as chocolate lovers become more and more discerning, demand for the real thing grows, so it's getting more plentiful by the day. For the healthiest way to satisfy a craving for chocolates, you just have to be more choosy over what you buy to eat (or for gifts) remember, the higher the cocoa content, the healthier it is….. and the nicer it tastes.

Start your Own Work at Home Business

Description:

Work at home businesses are becoming more and more popular every day. As more and more people connect to the Internet, the number of work at home businesses continues to grow and the number of people entering this 21st century cottage industry grows along with it.

Content:

Work at home businesses are becoming more and more popular every day. As more and more people connect to the Internet, the number of work at home businesses continues to grow and the number of people entering this 21st century cottage industry grows along with it.

People entering the work-at-home profession come from many different walks of life. But mostly, they are people who want freedom and flexibility in their lifestyles.

If you are the kind of person who enjoys having control over their time and being able to take a day off when you want rather than when someone else - your boss - says you can, then a work-at-home business just might be for you.

Stay at home moms, retired executives, delivery truck drivers, former military personnel, police officers, laid off construction workers - these are just a few of the people who are starting their own work-at-home businesses. Most people do it because they want to, not because they have to. But no matter what your motivation may be, work-at-home businesses are more rewarding than traditional jobs where you have to spend an hour or two each day driving back and forth.

If you like data entry, phone work, typing or secretarial work, office work, shopping, or even computer programming, then you would benefit from starting your own work-at-home business.

You have valuable and marketable skills. Thousands of employers are waiting for you to call them or send them a piece of your literature describing what you can do to help them run their businesses more efficiently. You can start today.

Many companies use outside workers to handle their internal non-core processes because it saves them money.

Think about it. If they pay someone $8-$10 per hour plus benefits, vacation time, sick days, and medical leave, just to name a few of the expenses, they can save money by paying someone to do the same work from the comfort of their own home. Add taxes, insurance, and the cost of acquiring new employees through advertising, turnover, etc., and the cost for each minimum wage employee is way beyond belief. And those expenses are getting bigger and bigger by the day.

That's why many companies are turning to work-at-home businesses to do the same work. They can pay $2-$5 per hour more for these workers and still save money in the long run because they don't have to pay for employee benefits and other expenses.

If you can type, work with your hands, process names and addresses, stuff envelopes, take photographs, or find items for sale at lower-than-dirt prices, then you can make money in your own work-at-home business. In many cases, you don't need any experience or a long resume to prove you have the skills. All you need is a computer and a telephone, or access to e-mail.

In today's automated workplace, you can work at home in your own business and never speak to the person who hired you. You can handle all of your business transactions through e-mail or through a company's intranet site. Technology truly is the great equalizer.

Many people start and run their own work-at-home businesses with little or no starting capital. Why not you?

In some cases, Uncle Sam - the United States government - will give you money to start your own work-at-home business. Are you handicapped? Female? A member of another minority group? Then you may qualify. All you have to do is fill out the grant application and send it in. You don't even have to pay the money back. It's yours to keep - as long as you use it for your work-at-home business.

There's absolutely no reason for any American not to have their own business. When so many people are leaving their day jobs, either through downsizing, lay offs, or just getting fed up with the corporate world and retiring, starting a work-at-home business has never been easier. And, it will never get better.

Do yourself a favor. Learn more about work-at-home businesses today.

Has it ever occurred to you how much you are saying to people even when you are not speaking? Unless you are a master of disguise, you are constantly sending messages about your true thoughts and feelings whether you are using words or not.

Studies show that your words account for only 7% of the messages you convey. The remaining 93% is non-verbal. 55% of communication is based on what people see and the other 38% is transmitted through tone of voice. So think about it. In the business setting, people can see what you are not saying. If your body language doesn't match your words, you are wasting your time.

Eye contact is the most obvious way you communicate. When you are looking at the other person, you show interest. When you fail to make eye contact, you give the impression that the other person is of no importance. Maintain eye contact about 60% of the time in order to look interested, but not aggressive.

Facial expression is another form of non-verbal communication. A smile sends a positive message and is appropriate in all but a life and death situation. Smiling adds warmth and an aura of confidence. Others will be more receptive if you remember to check your expression.

Your mouth gives clues, too, and not just when you are speaking. Mouth movements, such as pursing your lips or twisting them to one side, can indicate that you are thinking about what you are hearing or that you are holding something back.

The position of your head speaks to people. Keeping your head straight, which is not the same as keeping your head on straight, will make you appear self-assured and authoritative. People will take you seriously. Tilt your head to one side if you want to come across as friendly and open.

How receptive you are is suggested by where you place your arms. Arms crossed or folded over your chest say that you have shut other people out and have no interest in them or what they are saying. This position can also say, "I don't agree with you." You might just be cold, but unless you shiver at the same time, the person in front of you may get the wrong message.

How you use your arms can help or hurt your image as well. Waving them about may show enthusiasm to some, but others see this gesture as one of uncertainty and immaturity. The best place for your arms is by your side. You will look confident and relaxed. If this is hard for you, do what you always do when you want to get better at something - practice. After a while, it will feel natural.

The angle of your body gives an indication to others about what's going through your head. Leaning in says, "Tell me more." Leaning away signals you've heard enough. Adding a nod of your head is another way to affirm that you are listening.

Posture is just as important as your grandmother always said it was. Sit or stand erect if you want to be seen as alert and enthusiastic. When you slump in your chair or lean on the wall, you look tired. No one wants to do business with someone who has no energy.

Control your hands by paying attention to where they are. In the business world, particularly when you deal with people from other cultures, your hands need to be seen. That would mean you should keep them out of your pockets and you should resist the urge to put them under the table or behind your back. Having your hands anywhere above the neck, fidgeting with your hair or rubbing your face, is unprofessional.

Legs talk, too. A lot of movement indicates nervousness. How and where you cross them tells others how you feel. The preferred positions for the polished professional are feet flat on the floor or legs crossed at the ankles. The least professional and most offensive position is resting one leg or ankle on top of your other knee. Some people call this the "Figure Four." It can make you look arrogant.

The distance you keep from others is crucial if you want to establish good rapport. Standing too close or "in someone's face" will mark you as pushy. Positioning yourself too far away will make you seem standoffish. Neither is what you want so find the happy medium. Most importantly, do what makes the other person feel comfortable. If the person with whom you are speaking keeps backing away from you, stop. Either that person needs space or you need a breath mint.

You may not be aware of what you are saying with your body, but others will get the message. Make sure it's the one you want to send.

Build Your Online Business in Your Spare Time

Description:

You know that 90% of people who start a business online fail in their first year. That is why you should not take financial risks.

You know that 90% of people who start a business online fail in their first year. That is why you should not take financial risks.

Are you finally convinced that there is no such thing as a job security? Good! However, if you are in the pursuit of making your financial dreams come true, please bear in mind that most of the rich people in the world today become rich by building a business in their spare time.

So should you!

If you have commitments to meet at the end of the month, to quit your full-time job and jump straight into building a business can be very risky, online or offline.

The good news is that you can still be wealthy by building an Internet Business in your spare time.

And the other good news is that building an Internet Business does not require you to be at the computer table for long hours. In fact, the working hours can be rather flexible and the Internet is highly leveraged.

This is one of the many advantages an Internet Business can offer that conventional businesses do not.

I recommend you to build an Internet Business in your spare time as you will also learn business and leadership skills in the process, the same skills you may not learn from a job as an employee.

However, like any other forms of businesses, do not expect money to be rolling in too soon. If you still have commitments and bills to pay, keep your day time job for it keeps food on your table as you work on your Online Business. But work on your Internet Business in your spare time religiously and the results will show.

While your friends are watching TV at home or drinking beer at the bar talking trash, use your spare time wisely to build a successful business online. You will want to look forward to the financial and personal differences you make for yourself from your peers.

As soon as you finish building your money pipeline and when your residual income exceeds the amount of expenses you pay in a week or month, only then you can safely resign from your job to be financially free and perhaps pursue to grow your new found wealth!

And by that I mean you free yourself from the drudgery of waking up early in the morning against your own will and earning less than how much you think you should be worth your time and effort.

Working From Home: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Description:

Pros and Cons of Working from home, if it is right for you, or not.

Content:

Before the invention of the internet, it was nearly impossible to have a successful career while working from the confines of ones home. However, today, we see more and more people working out of home, and a number of large companies and organizations are in fact even encouraging such a trend. The primary reason for this working out of home phenomenon is the unprecedented growth of technology and communication. We can now stay connected to the world no matter where we are, and lots of people are now taking advantage of this to stay out of the confines of an office and work out of their own homes.

The pros and cons of working from home are quite obvious. Lets talk about the advantages first. The main benefit of working out of home is flexibility. If you are working from home, then none of the restrictions which are usually associated with working from a traditional office apply. There is no in-time or out-time which simply means that you can wake up at your own leisure, and finish working whenever you please. This kind of flexibility is almost never achieved while working away from home. The other advantages out of working from home would also be that since you are working from home, you are always near your family. In metropolitan cities today, people spend a huge amount of time commuting to and from work, which can be eliminated if one works out of home.

Working from home is also greatly advantageous for women, who want to maintain a career without compromising on their family, as this system strikes a perfect balance between the two. Traditional work places are also usually hot-beds for office-politics and unnecessary tension, which are avoided by working from home. It is also important to note that even the employers are usually quite happy if the employees want to work from home (of course the deadlines and targets have to be achieved!) since a lot of overhead costs can be reduced by such an arrangement.

However, there are quite a few disadvantages linked with working from home. The first disadvantage is again the first advantage that we talked about earlier: flexibility. Too much of a good thing is deemed to be bad, and this maxim applies here also. When there is too much flexibility, and you become your own boss, it often becomes difficult to keep up with deadlines and targets, and work becomes lax while working from the comforts of home.

Further, a boss or supervisor is usually required to monitor the work of subordinates which is not possible when working from home. Team work is also extremely important and working from home does not permit this. Often, teleconferences and emails are not sufficient, and working from home is not possible for those in areas such as the marketing sector, where a person to person interface is required.

Therefore, while working from home has both its advantages and disadvantages, it ultimately depends from person to person. If one has the will-power not to get distracted while working from home, and manages to overcome the other associated problems, then working from home can be a great proposition.

How To Pick The Best Business For You

Description:

How to analyze yourself to pick the best personal business to fit you and your skills

Content:

If you are serious about becoming financially independent, then you cannot ignore the possibilities that are offered by having your own home business.

These days, however, there are so many opportunities available that sifting the wheat from the chaff can be a very difficult task.

Everyone who wants to earn some serious money must acquire some skill in evaluating home business opportunities. If you have it, leadership is the best skill. Perhaps the first thing that you will have to learn will be to gauge yourself. Its cliche, but you really do need to know yourself. Why? Because you will essentially be working by yourself in everything that you do.

You must at least be familiar with your particular best traits, including your talents, abilities, and inclinations. Unless an opportunity fits you, you probably will not be able to use it well. It may even be completely useless to you. Consider this situation: you are offered the opportunity to become the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, one that deals in oil. Your current occupation is that of a kindergarten teacher specializing in art. Chances are, with a combination like this, the CEO position would not be a good fit for you.

It is an incredible opportunity, to be sure, but it is not one that really applies to the person involved. No matter how hard he works, the kindergarten teacher has, at best, a slim chance of making the opportunity work for him. Like banging your head against the wall. Conversely, if you are given even just a simple opportunity in an area that you truly love and are talented in, you will more likely to succeed. Even your natural instincts will be better than others. Using our preceding example, let us imagine that our kindergarten teacher, aside from his or her teaching duties, is also an amateur painter.

He or she is given the opportunity to display some of his work in a small exhibition, and she works extra hard to improve his craft. In this case, the opportunity presented to her fits her talents and inclinations exactly, and can well be a stepping stone to greater success. In evaluating home business opportunities, the lesson is this: choose the opportunities that suit you, in areas that you love and have talents in. You will never go wrong by following this path. Correct decisions will come easier to you.

If you are interested in plants, start a plant nursery or a related niche. If you are a book lover, consider starting a book club. If you are passionate about beauty products, consider setting up a small shop, maybe even mixing your own concoctions. The possibilities are endless and infinitely varied. The only limits are your imagination. Whether you want to sell goods or to provide services, you only have to make sure that you provide a quality product at a reasonable price. As long you as what you have to offer is useful, you should be able to make your own opportunities, not wait for them to come by! They will seem to magically appear.
